I think there is a much greater chance than 10% that Donald Trump runs in 2028 (Don't forget about Jr).

He already said he won't run. But he also said he won't run unless a GOP COngress "[does] something". He also yapped about extending his first term, gaining back the time spent defending against the 1st impeachment or disregarding term limits altogether. With a GOP all to eager to do his bidding for the most part, a cult-like electorate and a MAGA extremist Supreme Court, there is no way I'd bet any amount of money with any odds that he won't run again in 2028.

So you are saying there is a 5-10% chance the US Constitution can be changed in 4 years? Really?

You are not offering 3-1, you are offering 1-3. Ordinarily I would bet the house on something that has no chance of happening but I am not taking a bet with someone who cannot even describe things correctly.

Betting that Trump will not run again at 2028 is about as sure a bet as you can make. It's illegal and he wouldn't even do it if it was legal. He didn't want to do it this time but he really had no choice.

I don’t think with the current levels of Repubs and Dems there is any chance of a Constitutional Amendment in the next 4 years. Trump is an unusual bird. And with a Republican Senate and House, and generally Republican leaning Supreme Court, I think there is certainly SOME chance Trump announces an intention to continue his Presidency. Might make parallels to FDR. I like my 5-10% chance.

Let's say in a few years time. he calls the Solicitor General, the White House Counsel and the AG into a meeting and asks for legal opinions on whether he can run again. One person says absolutely not. Another person says that while the Constitution says no, there are untested legal theories that say you can. And the third person says there's merit to both arguments.

What will he do?

Hopefully fire any and every person that says he can run. I forger what grade in school we first were taught this. We would have been "told" at some point by maybe third grade? Probably by 7th we did some "official" learning of the amendments and for sure by American Government in 9th.

That people on here think it could shows how deep TDS runs.

Some psychologist somewhere, or maybe a small team of them, should study not just TDS but app political DS in the USA. We have a huge problem here, it is easy to see. Done right they would really make a name for themselves.

Yes, I want 3 to 1 odds that Trump will run for president in 2028. I am not sure what you are not understanding when I said I would take +300.

If betting jargon is too complicated for you I would advise you to never bet on anything.

I will bet $100 that you will get if Trump doesn't run. If Trump runs I get $300 from you. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
