The terrorist attack in New Orleans. On line there were ‘racist’ tropes saying the guy was going to be named ‘Mohammed’. They were proven wrong. He was identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar.

Two faced Governor Hochul just announced another cost for private employers in NY State. 20 hours additional paid time off for all pregnant workers for appointments. As a physician who I'm sure has participated in more than one high risk delivery over the years, I'm sure you understand the importance of proper prenatal care and monitoring to help ensure the best maternal and fetal/child outcomes. If we want to incentivize pregnancy and families, then our labor laws and pay laws should do so.

Fair point about it only covering private employers. I'm sure there is a reason embedded in state law or public sector union collective bargaining agreements that complicate such requirements in government. As an erudite and learned man, I'm sure you are knowledgeable on such things. Or, at least you claim to be.

I notice that you yap about the Democrat Gov Hochul, but not about the supposed pro-life GOP governors in those states that have WORSE maternal and child health than New York. If I was a man of science (which I am) or a man of medicine (which you are), I;d be more worried about that.

That is why they have PTO time in the first place. If women expecting have "extra" PTO, should men over 50 get the same for prostrate checkups? This is just another case of a politician giving away other people's money.
