The Republican majority in the House of Representatives has just increased by one and is now 220 to 212.

Whatever.

As they say: "Misery loves company."

New York State needs a DOGE! Around 4% of the ENTIRE BUDGET is spent on payments to relatives of Medicaid recipients as ‘caregiver’ payments. This is NOT Medicaid payments for Dr. visits. Not payment for hospital stays. Not payment for prescription drugs. So you are a PTSD Medicaid patient…. give your significant other a SALARY to be your caregiver, whatever exactly that entails. You live in a blue state, this is what you get.

You do get what you vote for. That’s $9 billion a year. Around 9 million taxpayers in NY State. So each taxpayer averaged $1,000 a year for the home health aides (relatives and friends) for Medicaid recipients. Let that percolate.

Can you imagine how much both fraud and waste is in that program? 7 or 8 billion out of the 9?

This what people voted for
Get used to it
If the people of NY want Doge, Republicans would win
Obviously the people of NY don't want Doge
Elections have consequences
I thought you knew that

Question for SOOPOO:

A couple days after it was reported that a nodule was found in biden's prostate, his office/team announced he had cancer. Among other information the following statements was made:
Quote:
While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,

If it was just discovered that biden had cancer, how could be concluded that the cancer was "hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management."

I would think that this is not something that could be quickly determined.

No expert on that. And my urologist friend hasn’t gotten back to me. The final definitive diagnosis of the prostate cancer is accomplished by a biopsy done with local anesthesia. The metastatic part of the diagnosis is done radiologically. The ‘hormone sensitive’ part is done in a lab. No idea how long it takes from biopsy to that determination.

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before. I had prostate cancer. Had what’s called a ‘robot assisted prostatectomy’. All my lymph nodes were negative, and since then my PSA has been zero. For those with metastatic disease the PSA is some positive number. There is a few percent chance that my cancer metastasized before the prostate was removed, and I may have a recurrence. But very unlikely.

There are now so many different options open to men with the disease, from ‘active surveillance’ (watch and do nothing for now), focused radiation, radiation seeds, or surgical removal. I chose surgical removal, and I’ll admit part of my reasoning was psychological. I don’t think I would have done well knowing I still had cancer in my body.

No doubt the Orthodox Jewish community in NY is all for these programs.
