You do get what you vote for. That’s $9 billion a year. Around 9 million taxpayers in NY State. So each taxpayer averaged $1,000 a year for the home health aides (relatives and friends) for Medicaid recipients. Let that percolate.

Can you imagine how much both fraud and waste is in that program? 7 or 8 billion out of the 9?

You prefer they all go in to more expensive nursing homes and more expensive assisted living?

And no, I don't know how much fraud and waste. And neither do you. But since you Trumpster divers think *any* government spending is waste or fraud, you start with bad faith and descend from there.

It'd make more sense to wonder whether Hillary has cancer or dementia, since she can actually still run for President. Biden is gone for good. It'd be nice if Trump would join him.

I’ll tell you the Medicaid waste I’ve seen. You or I have a medical condition, an aching bunion, that needs attention, but is not an emergency. So you call your doctor and make an appointment. You fit it into your schedule, or rearrange your schedule to fit it in. The Medicaid patient calls for an ambulance after their favorite TV show is over (my foot hurts), and goes to an emergency room. There are no consequences to the individual as they don’t give a shit that society is paying literally thousands more than is reasonable or necessary. Oh yeah, when discharged, they get the free Medicaid cab ride home. Some have apparently learned the magic words ‘chest pain’ that gets you the ambulance quicker, then on arrival at the hospital the chest pain magically disappears but the toe pain is still there.

No, what I want is for the ‘caretaker’ to be gainfully employed anywhere else, and if necessary, then a ‘visiting nurse’ or ‘visiting home health aide’ be used. Not Aunt Sallie or Uncle Joe.

The fact that you can’t see this as a problem is reason #286 that the worst candidate in history, DJT, beat a regular Democrat.

Bad car accident that killed 3 graduating high school seniors and severely injured a fourth has been in the news as a ‘feel bad’ story. Now detail that kid’s car was traveling 110 mph. I wonder if dead and injured kids will be suing the driver’s estate? Probably not, as the kid couldn’t have been worth too much.

It’s a tough one if you are the passenger with a reckless driver. How to handle it to avoid that result?

The dead kids might have a hard time finding an attorney.

Your example of waste doesn't it the current topic, but I digress.

Next, you Trumpster divers will them complain VNA or home health care costs too much, yap about "fraud" and "waste", then cut funding. We've seen this movie before.

And my every single one of those voters who voted to elect and then reelect the worst candidate in history, and may every single one of those voters who didn't actively vote to elect the regular Democrat have the day they voted for.

The estates of the passengers should sue the estate of the driver to share whatever insurance he had and then make a claim against their own carriers for underinsured motorist benefits.

Sounds like junior took a family SUV on a post-graduation trip: odds are the SUV had decent insurance coverage through his folks, the presumed owners.

A couple have both lost an arm as they were sheltering inside their Kentucky home that was devastated by a tornado last week, according to their relatives.

“The doctors said that they lost opposite arms is because they were holding each other,” Brandy Bowman told NBC affiliate WLEX about her uncle and aunt, Paul and Gail Cline, who are in their 60s and from Laurel County.

These youth were from my state, and local to me. Tragic combination of unlit road conditions and extremely poor decision making. I make no comment about whether the tractor-trailer involved was doing anything illegal, as no info on that regard has been released.
