Answering Geno. I have been ‘vaxxed’ against virtually everything. I have recommended/encouraged all that I know and care about to get most vaccines. Life expectancy hasn’t skyrocketed because people avoid vaccines. But I am for individuals being allowed to do stupid things. It’s a delicate balance between the public good and individual rights. If you're for school children risking their lives for their parent's views on vaccines, I sure don't see why gender care and surgery should be restricted by the public either.

This last bout of measles likely killed two kids in Texas.

If a pregnant woman is exposed to rubella, worst possible effect on the fetus,

Deafness
Problems with the development of the heart (congenital heart defects)
Problems with the development of other organs
Problems with mental development and learning

Well, notice that Mom and Dad can't smoke inside the McDonald's, due to the dangers of second hand smoke to others. Notice that unsafe jalopies with barely any brakes get pulled off the road when/if the vehicle fails the state mandated safety inspection. Notice they get pulled off the road if a cop notices unsafe equipment or a lack of yearly mandated safety inspection or registration.

And you know full well that there are religious exemptions to vaccinations and in making certain healthcare decisions and in making life decisions. Are you really asking us to say that we shouldn't respect a person's closely held religious beliefs? Get real, Scott.

As for childhood vaccinations, you know full well that the purpose of those is to reduce the disease burden on children, who are quite vulnerable to the ravages of these infections diseases and to reduce the transmission of these communicable diseases among the general public. That's why it's called *public* health, and the comparisons between childhood vaccinations and the parents of that chubby 5 year old are comparing apples and bowling balls, and you know it. But you are so wrapped up in knots in trying to justify MAGA healthcare that you absolutely know is against almost everything we know that works about disease prevention that you can't see that anymore. You say you loath RFK Jr., but you are also aren't interested whatsoever in (a)speaking out against him and those who think like him and (b)opposing those who put him in power. But at least those kids in FLA are going to be in for a rude awakening when they go to college out of state., or join the service.

Not correct. The rules were always there. The as you say "invisible man in the sky" just came to earth to explain them.

If it’s a MAGA position that not every vaccine can be forced upon you because some POLITICIAN passes a law requiring such, then that is an example of a good MAGA policy. I am not against all MAGA points because YOU say they are bad. I can evaluate each one individually. I think I’ve gotten COVID, Shingrix, pneumovax, and flu shots in the last 12 months. Which one, if any, do you think the government should force me to get?

Answering Rx about ‘trans’ kids. To me it’s a simple informed consent issue. As mentioned here before, I’ve participated in many ‘reassignment’ surgeries. I am sure the informed consent process was extremely rigorous. I’m not so sure that it can be rigorous enough for a minor for the (in my mind) clearly elective irreversible procedure which is gender reassignment surgery.

And as far as religious exemptions….. if we truly want to protect our children there should be none.
