So he’s off by somewhat more than 299,900,000? Numbers are not his strength. If he would have said ‘responsible for 10’s of thousands’ of American deaths would you argue with him? Then you could argue his point instead of pointing out his humorous error. His point being there are foreign policy decisions being made as the number of US deaths due to smuggled Venezuelan drugs is unacceptable.

It's a pity he does not hold some kind of office where he can whimsically ask teams of advisers for basic talking points to ensure that pretty simple stats are correct before making a statement...

How many of the let's say 100k drug deaths are from Venezuela? The vast majority occur with legally prescribed drugs or legal drugs (alcohol.) And, of the sliver that are 100% illegal, what portion are sent from Venezuela?

And, of 100% illegal drugs, the vast majority of deaths (basically all for all intents and purposes minus a statistical fringe,) are from illegally produced fentanyl. Do you know where fentanyl comes from? (Not Venezuela.) Almost all Fenantyl is from China and Mexico (statistically these are the only 2 countries that matter for Fenantyl.)

My understanding is very few drugs are produced in Venezuela, it is basically a hub for drugs produced in Columbia and other nearby countries.

What would do more to stop drug deaths, more regulation on prescription drug and alcohol companies? Or invading Venezuela because they act as a depot for drugs from other countries that Trump is not concerned with? Or does the obsession with Venezuela have more to do with what Madero is doing with the oil markets, and the drugs are the a pretense? And, for the record Biden did questionable sanctions on him too, so I am not just blaming Trump, but at least Biden was not on the verge of a War and bombing boats that allegedly have drugs in it....

So we are allegedly on the verge of invading a country because maybe 0.5% of drug deaths are vaguely linked to that country. When of you really cared about drug deaths you would support stricter regulation of drug companies, stricter regulation on alcohol, and being harsher on China.

Drug deaths in the U.S. have nothing to do with Venezuela, it statistically may as well be zero... You want the regime overthrown for a different reason, don't beat around the bush...
