I was really happy to catch a nice sized smallmouth the other day, 12 inches

world record is 27 inches, caught in a lake, the stream I caught mine in will not have fish much bigger than 12 inches I think. Why mention it? it's fun to catch a smallie vs a largemouth, if you don't fish, you might not 'get it'

>>>

Do smallmouth fight harder than largemouth?

Yes, many anglers say that smallmouths are better fighters than largemouths. More precisely, professional anglers consider the smallmouth one of the hardest warm and freshwater fighters.
__

Why aren t smallmouth bass in ponds?

Smallmouth bass, however, are primarily river dwellers that like to hang out around pea-size to 1-inch-diameter gravel for spawning. They'll tolerate lakes and ponds, but they like the steady current and higher rate of dissolved oxygen it provides.

Was wondering; did *not* find: exact numbers such as "can go from 20% O2 to 18%"

>>>

Does high humidity lower O2?

The smaller the difference between the actual temperature and the dew point temperature, the higher the humidity will be. And higher the dew point, the more water vapor molecules will be present in the air. If there's more moisture in the air, it results in reduced oxygen levels.
__

does high humidity make it hard to breathe?

Humid air feels thick and dense. It makes your body work harder to breathe. You may need more oxygen, and you may feel tired and short of breath. Humid air also helps grow mold and dust mites, as they thrive in a moist, warm environment
__

Does humidity cause bad breath?

High Humidity Leads to Dehydration and Dry Mouth

Dehydration reduces the amount of saliva in your mouth, which causes a build-up of plaque and oral bacteria. The increase in the level of oral bacteria leads to tooth decay, as well as other dental health problems such as bad breath.

how is Realfeel determined?

>>>

The AccuWeather RealFeel Temperature takes into account the effects of multiple parameters, including air temperature, wind speed, solar intensity, humidity, precipitation intensity/type, elevation and atmospheric pressure.

septic tank health always a concern when you have one

stuff like Rid-X seems to get thumbs down these days

This one surprised me

>>>

What can I put in my septic tank to break down solids?

Epsom Salt: This natural salt not only helps remove odors but also aids in breaking down solid waste in your septic tank. It is safe for the environment, and you can easily find it at your local grocery store.

The world's record high dive is 172ft wearing just a speedo. Another guy did a record with safety gear on at 190 ft. But he didn't do the required one tumble and he didn't leave the water unaided. (those were the rules)

Several achieve the first two requirements, but have been unable to leave the water due to broken legs, broken back or being knocked unconscious. So the record is still holding for 40 years now.

If, as a matter of human physiology, no human can dive from higher than 172 feet with just a Speedo, and not break a bone or more or being knocked unconscious, they need to retire the record as unsafe to break.

I would have said it's best to not use 'gift' as a verb in formal writing. I guess I'm wrong, but it sure often comes out awkwardly if you do. You generally sound ignorant IMO

>>>

When did gifting become a verb?

The use of "gift" as a verb has ancient roots. Everyone who puzzles over this conundrum points out that the Oxford English Dictionary attests this usage as early as the 16th century.
__

gift a verb formal writing?

The proper usage for your example would be “I gift you with a present.” (But it would be highly unusual. “I give you a present” would be better.) Although “gift” can be used as a verb meaning “to give”, it has a connotation of formality such as giving something as a reward, donation or a bequest

It's one of those records like jumping motorcycles long distance. No one is being encouraged to do it, but someone is going to record it if it's verifiable.

Just tried to catch up on 'racist math' . Supposedly there is a video of black students somewhere objecting to the way fractions were being taught at that moment in class, claiming racism. I can't find this video by searching on the internet. What I found , instead, exclusively, was video after video mocking the whole idea.

This ridiculous theory that math is racist cannot show it's face in the real world

In the world of Academia, however, it is alive and well. Tons of stuff like the below come up.

According to Deborah Loewenberg Ball, mathematics has the power to disrupt white supremacy unlike any other subject in school. As a professor and former Dean at the University of Michigan, Director of TeachingWorks, and elementary school math teacher herself, Deborah pushes back on the notion that math is culturally neutral. In fact, she believes that changing the way we teach math could help break patterns of inequality and injustice that are perpetuated in our classrooms.
