I agree but the death spiral can be reversed.

I'd rather pay out $50,000 to a citizen than $500,000 on behalf of an immigrant.

It can't. It never has anywhere. The USA had a brief recovery late 80s to late 80s, that is short and unusual. "Paying" people at best pulls births that would happen anyways forward a few years. Using myself as an example, I want no kids no matter what you pay me simply because I never wanted kids. Other people I know have several because they wanted to. Using dollar incentives to get people to have kids is a very dangerous game.

The alternative is more ugly.

I believe conservatives have to concede, not in principle but to rearrange the funding from death to life.

Mankind has 300-1000 years left. The years between about 2060-2150 will be very, very rough. I have a thread started on it here. It is inevitable. If we have to fund kids at the government level it is really over and faster.

There is a chance man goes down to almost nothing, it happened once before after natural disaster which is probably the inspiration for Noah's Ark story. In the 100 year period I mentioned we will lose about 80% of population. This is pretty much locked in at this point. That means a century of economic depression and little tech progress.

As that period goes on I can see people living in the collapsing buildings that are abandoned by those who die off. Why build if we have loads of buildings? Vital skills will be lost as too many people who know them die off while not enough people to learn them.

So, by 2200 there is a world with maybe 1 billion people left. Then it gets tricky to predict.

This is just BIZARRE between AZ and DG! I read each post and regretted each one. Getting back to THIS thread, has Kamala conceded yet? Why not? Trying for a recount in the 7 battleground states? I wonder where she goes from here politically? No way she tries to ever run for office again, right?
