He doesn't have to worry about being voted out.
He has a very favorable court, plus he may still replace the two older men with younger conservatives.
A lot of conservatives still favor going this far.

How long will it be before the GOP introduces a bill to further restrict abortions in the new Congress?

What is wrong with reasonable abortion restrictions?

It amazes me how left wingers wrap their entire lives in abortion. Little else seems to matter to them.

Your ‘reasonable’ is someone else’s ‘unreasonable’. In general, I am against most of the restrictions you would be in favor of. Conservatives think that woman are all waiting to their third trimester to have an abortion….. never the case. They may have found out their baby will have anencephaly and has zero chance of any meaningful human life. Same with a bunch of specific chromosomal anomalies. Having taken care of many of these unbearably sad cases (general anesthesia is more common in these cases than ‘regular’ early term abortions), there was never a case without profound sadness for the mother. I think it’s just plain cruel of ‘the government’ to add to that trauma.

Agree on your second point. It’s like the world is ending to them.

My sincerest hope is that the filibuster is maintained, so no national abortion ban can ever see the light of day.

Leave it to the states. People can move to a state that closer aligns to their beliefs.

'Couple made surrogate abort their baby at 20 weeks after she had an alcoholic drink'

https://www.liveaction.org/news/couple-surrogate-abort-20-weeks-alcoholic-drink/

'The most common abortion procedure at this point in pregnancy is a dilation and evacuation, or D&E; during this procedure, the abortionist literally rips the baby apart, limb by limb, and then crushes the baby’s skull. And it takes place during a point where the preborn baby very likely can feel pain.'

Exactly! Pretty much what all political rhetoric has become.

So?

The fetus feels the pain. At least administer anesthesia, as is required by law in Utah.

How would you like it if someone tore you apart like a roast chicken?

The thing is, this is not what the pro-abortion side is saying they want abortion for. Obama himself said he did not want women "burdened with a child." They say they want "reproductive freedom" as the new term. They want it as a lifestyle choice. To the point of partial delivery.

As I have said, abortion is not a key issue for me, but this is very dangerous stuff. If you doubt me, watch some liberals reacting to the election of Trump. Unless these videos are staged, these women (and a couple men) are mentally ill. That they will not have unfettered access to abortion is making them go crazy. Screaming into nothing. Cutting off their hair. Saying women need to divorce their husbands or break up with their boyfriends. Cutting off lifetime friends because they voted Trump. Someone needs to tell them to take a serious look at themselves. It is not good.

But you voted for the woman who wanted to get rid of it. Funny how this all works.
