Unless Trump figures out how to get one of his sons in office. It's completely open for Democrats at the moment. *I already see JDVance as way too slippery. He's a Rorschach test. Because if he doesn't, he'll be ousted. Why would Trump be any different this term. I expect nothing different. Deep State = sensible people trying to derail the sociopath |

AZDuffman Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 136 Posts: 19214 | Vance will have the inside track for the GOP. I think it’s 50/50!that Trump dies in 2027 letting Vance take 2028 in a walk. On the Democrat side it’s harder. Walz is not just weird but will need a trip to Earl Scheib or/and Cutco to have a chance in what will be a DEI Democrat primary. Said primary will be a hatefest and will pick a far left candidate. The defeat the Democrats just took will make them run far left for a decade. They started this in 2017 but had a moment of sanity when they cleared the field for Biden in 2020. This time there is no Biden type to pick. It will be a circus. I tip my hat to the new constitution, take a bow for the new revolution |

I think the Democrats will try to get back to what they thought was their permanent base. Just like any political animal, they want power back and will move in a direction overall that they think will get them there. Vance may be a possibility but there can be an awful lot of controversy his boss could cause in the next four years. |

Or they might go with a rising star whose name I don’t know yet. The mind hungers for that on which it feeds. |

I still don’t think it was feasible to run a selection process in that short of a time period. And Biden wasn’t going to hold up. It was a rock and a hard place. I don’t take from that, that a woman shouldn’t run again. What woman, I don’t know. Deep State = sensible people trying to derail the sociopath |

Maybe, but winning the White House isn’t just about selling policy positions. Democratic underperformance among young men, black men and hispanic men was striking. Elizabeth Warren won’t fix that. The mind hungers for that on which it feeds. |

I'm not limiting it to Warren or anyone who defines a particular niche on the left. I don't see anyone in particular at the moment, but we're still aways away. Deep State = sensible people trying to derail the sociopath |

4 years before Obama ran he probably wasn’t on any lists. The Democrats will push Hakeem Jeffries. Maybe Shapiro picks up steam. There is always Newsom if California isn’t considered too much of a failure by then. The Republicans may get stuck with Vance, sort of like the Democrats did with Harris. |
