I just remembered something I did that was mean.

Years ago, I had 4 pretty good tires with nice rims sitting in the closet in my bedroom of the apartment, because I had replaced them with racier tires and rims.

When I got ready to move out, I hadn't time enough left to put them up for sale, so I needed to dump them.

We had a regular set of dumpster divers--always coming through, sometimes with shopping carts and poking in the trash.

A couple days before I moved, I threw 3 of the tires in on top of a full dumpster. The lid wouldn't shut it was so full. This was in the evening.

When morning arrived I went outside and saw the entire dumpster contents were stacked around the dumpster fairly neatly. Nearly everything removed.

A couple days later I threw in the 4th tire.

If you ever had a car start rolling downhill after you parked it (raises hand) you learn your lesson quite quickly.

Most of my cars have been manual drives.

Other than sports cars and trucks, can you still even get manual transmissions in most new cars?

I don't know, though the Smart Car I was looking at recently still offered both options.

I have a manual tranny, I always use
the brake when parking.
Me to.

I have also seen automatics that were not perfectly in gear or other, but they slipped out and started rolling.

Way up north, never use the parking brake. By morning the brakes were always frozen on, and it took forever to thaw them out to pull away.

I've never parked one and had it roll, but I seem to remember getting out just to walk a few steps, and then had to chase after it, feeling quite lucky I caught it.

When parking in -40 temperatures you never put on the parking break and always left it in neutral. Put blocks out on the wheels. If you left the transmission in gear the fluid will be so stiff you can't shift it out of gear to warm it up. Automatic is okay in park.

Hah ha, Kenarman thinks I'd actually be going outside at -40.

If it wasn't a critical chore I would stay inside to. Really easy to break shit on the vehicles at that temperature.

Don't see it that cold much anymore. Hooray for global warming.

Officials are warning swimmers in the Rio
Olympics to 'keep their mouths shut' while
in the water to avoid fetid diseased sludge
and the floating turds. How can an athlete
perform under these conditions, it makes
me sick just reading about it.
