It is true that diminshed incidence of a disease automatically affects the decision to vaccinate but one must remember all those airplanes, all those relief missions, all those undocumented and therefore unvaccinated brats, all those food handlers ... heck, just look at a cruise ship every now and then.... headlines about returning to port due to food borne illness ... .

Limes come from Nicauragua, alligator pears from Mexico, bananas from Chile, ... all countries with lax health systems.

Just look at the Brazilian soccer game.... and the Zitka virus scaring pregnant American women.

The threats are ever present even if you never saw a Brussels passenger shot to death.

These are "cut resistant" gloves for use in the kitchen. And if you are as clumsy as this person you would certainly need them

Many people at meat-packing plants wear chain-mail gloves to guard against cuts. But they also employ very sharp knives and cleavers, and tend to work very quickly.

Lots of people use them in the fish filleting business as well.

I never worked the slime line but I met a few who did and a few who were trying to get to Seattle so they could be brought to the slime line job they had waiting for them. Everyone had to watch a video tape and they guy doing the hiring told me he would never work the slime line, he just hired people down on their luck to do it. I didn't have the opportunity to even watch the video tape but I don't think I could have watched it for long. For all my joking about Coconut Crabs scampering around and attacking tourists who were sleeping off some beers, I think that in reality I would be the one doing the scampering if I actually encountered one of those things. Too squeemish about killing things. I even stop for squirrels and turtles.... and lawyers!

I was expecting tax hell this year. I ain't had health insurance a day of 2015, and that was supposed to mean some sort of penalty? Additionally, I didn't have any Fed taken out of my checks from May until, like, November. And this is not my year to claim my boy.

$75. That's the sum total of everything I owe. Did the month and a half of 100hr work weeks catch it all back up?

I have two neighbors who both need hearing aids. It's not enjoyable to have more than a short conversation with either of them as you have to shout constantly. I totally understand why people who start getting bad hearing loss can feel alienated or shunned. The lady often misunderstands what you say, and then you have to shout it again. Or sometimes, I just let her think I said something else, rather than correct her. She is my actual next door neighbor so this occurs fairly often.
