So, I am aware he did not literally get his tattoo during the Third Reich. It is a white supremist tattoo, that his unit labelled an extremist tattoo.

Most people would be fine calling this a "Nazi tattoo," yes, he technically did not get it during the third Reich, we know this.

The above article points out that some of his tattoos are used by both Christian Groups, and White Supremist Groups, so it is hard to definitely say which groups inspired him to get the tattoos. But, his NG unit decided on evaluating the tonality of the evidence, that they were too likely to be linked to extremists groups, or at the very least perceived that way.

Personally, I tend to think they are extremist linked, because Hegseth has worked hard to cover white supremacy in the military.
