How come no one can answer this? If there is any REAL evidence of Trump wrongdoing, why wasn’t it exposed during the 4 years the Democrats held the Presidency? Why weren’t these ‘files’ released during the Biden administration?

What is the ‘regular’ procedure for releasing ‘files’? The House and Senate surely don’t vote on it and send it to the President's desk for a signature! Who ‘normally’ decides to release files?

Frankly, this issue to me is a distraction from the disaster that the Schumer shutdown was. I of course want all those that participated in the criminal acts that Epstein was a part of brought to justice. I just am skeptical that these files will be able to help accomplish that.

Let’s do an over/under on number of elected officials whose names appear in the files. I’m putting the number at 14.5. (This includes past elected officials like Bill and Hilary).

Many of the files and emails were held by the Epstein estate out of control of the DOJ or Congress. I assume the executor of the estate controls those files, and their release. The files under control of the DOJ were or are evidence in an ongoing or completed criminal investigation, and therefore rules of evidence and legal ethics preclude release. I assume the AG controls those files and their release. The House and the Senate can pass a bill for the Prez to sign to release the files under DOJ control. With Donny, they better make it a veto-proof majority.

That bit interests me. If it ever got as far as his desk, would he dare to sign it?

Would not daring to sign it be a tacit enough indicator of guilt to shred his support?

I don't expect the 'petition' and any votes to make much progress. donny and his supporters will throw every distraction/deflection/reflection conceivable at suppressing the truth.

Assuming the bill passes both houses with a veto proof majority, Donny will have a major political headache on his hands.

Several reasons, Democrats tend to be more cautious, and they know their would be blowback to them as well. I doubt Biden had any involvement (doesn't seem the type,) but zero doubt other prominent Democrats and allies did. Trump is more willing to risk damage to allies as long as it doesn't damage him.

I don't think there is evidence of Trump wrongdoing, but there will be a lot of indication he knew more than he let on. And, probably evidence he was more chummy than he let on (and didn't cut him out of his life as soon as he said that he did.)

At the end of the day Trump ran on releasing the files, Biden did not. Why is it wrong to expect the current President to hold a promise he made frequently and recently (less than a year ago,) while playing it off as it doesn't matter because a past President who never made such a promise also never did it? I don't even know how this is a defense?

It is not a shutdown distraction. Did you miss the news this summer? There have been demands and talks to release the files since the late spring? Also, Trump brought a group of popular MAGA influencers to the White House to pose with "Epstein Files," binders even though they were just fake files and it was all a photo op.

There is possibly damaging behavior or photos not illegal of Trump that even he doesn't want people to know about.

Hard to believe i know.

Bill Maher has a great take on the Epstein saga. The government is shut down for 41 days and upon opening we need to focus on ‘a dead perverts emails’. Like there’s nothing more important to address…..

When MTG, Boebert, and the Dims agree on something YOU KNOW it’s a stupid waste!

Seems like a gazillion of these emails are being released without a government law….

Trump's been openly focusing on supposed crimes of his enemies back to 8 years ago. He already set the example.

Why haven't we heard a "tell all" tale from the then-underage nymphs who allegedly banged / blew the oaf back in the day?

Let me guess...he got them to sign a NDA.

Really now ladies, don't be modest: for god and country come forth and give us the salient details...

TDS. Sign an NDA to cover up a crime? You know that’s unenforceable. If there were any underage girls that Trump partook in we would have heard about it multiple times already. I’m frankly surprised there isn’t a specific woman willing to lie that he did.

Really?

The Oaf used them to try to cover up his affairs: remember Stormy Daniels?

Bwa ha ha ha
