Didn't know about this problem

To be fair to RFK, he hasn't said he is focused on the lack of doctors. He did talk in the hearing about general problems of providing medical care in rural areas, how it is shrinking, and wanting to do what is possible [when he was actually allowed to talk]

Perhaps it has something to do with the population shift from the rural areas to more urbanized areas.

His administration's compelled closure of rural hospitals makes him full of sh!t on this subject.

I *am saying* that he is not getting a fair shake and that much of the criticism is reflexive, others of it vested interest fighting back for losing long tenured influence, and some of it settling scores for switching political sides

He isn't getting a fair shake because his public statements and executive actions are untethered from objective facts and are the actions and words of a Lysenkoist crackpot.

It's pretty bad
I wintered in rural Mississippi last year
No doctors in the area taking new patients
Sucks
Moved to an urban area and easily arranged to see a Dr

May they have the days they voted for.

Maybe people should no longer live in rural areas?

There's a price to be paid for living out in the middle of nowhere.

A new word for me to use!

That's the kind of statement that makes smoke come out of RFK's ears

IDK if the word was in existence before I started using it, but I've been using it for decades-ever since the cold fusion fiasco in 1989.

Most rural areas are not “the middle of nowhere.” Lots the size of a major city suburb. It’s just that with little growth a doctor really has to want a general practice to set up. This is not new I remember as a kid probably about 1978 a small town had a billboard said “we need a doctor.” There used to be a program where they got student loan abatement for several years of service in a smaller place.

Admitting and graduating more doctors would help.

Won't help, unless Congress funds more residencies.
