I think it is obvious that this Venezuela situation is not about drugs. I believe it is about limiting exposure of China near our borders and by forcing out Madura we can hopefully get a U.S. friendly administration in power.

I thought attacks on Venezuela were immanent three or four months ago. I really don't understand why we have so many forces involved. We can strategically bomb them and probably achieve our goals in a week or two. I would not be surprised if the attack starts this weekend or next.

You really are like chicken little. I would not be shocked beyond belief, but I would be surprised if we attacked mainland Venezuela. I don’t think the MAGA’ base would even be in favor of that.

It would be quite hypocritical for the USA to attack Venezuela while complaining that Russia was in the wrong for attacking Ukraine.

If anybody has a better "right" to do so, Russia does, given the fact that Ukraine was once part of the USSR, whereas Venezuela has never been politically connected to the USA.

Did trump or 'the USA' ever complain that Russia was wrong for attacking Ukraine?

Biden did, but not Trump.

I don't think that is comparing apples to apples. I don't think we will invade with a goal of taking over their land, I think we will just bomb then and if that doesn't work try to get Maduro out manually. If the bombing doesn't work I forsee a Panama style attack like we did for Noriega.

“As you probably know we’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela,” Trump said. “Large tanker, very large, largest one ever seized, actually.”

The president did not offer any detailed explanation for the move, saying only that it was seized “for very good reason” and signaling that the administration would soon release additional information. Asked what would happen to the oil the tanker was transporting, Trump said, “We keep it, I guess.”

Not content with murdering untried venezuelans at sea, out of range of the USA and not even heading for the USA, trump has now had YOUR navy seize an oil tanker. No explanation yet. No justification. You guys just stole it by force.

Piracy? An act of war?

This will not end well.

The oaf will seemingly do ANYTHING to avoid dealing with the Epstein issue.

What, we're to blithely accept a ghost tanker in lieu of expected proof of his perfidious pedophilia?

I don't think so...

Funny how this draft dodging wimp, this one time military school martinet is trying to position himself as a Tough Guy: he likes to think that he too is a Rough Rider but the only thing his ever roughly ridden over is the US Constitution and the hopes and dreams of the American people.

JAIL TO THE CHIEF..now add "war criminal" to "convicted felon."

Can't wait til the world wises up and issues a warrant for his arrest and trial before an international tribunal.

Like Nuremberg, but the defendant will have bad hair.

You don’t know that. Frankly, you really don’t know anything. It certainly may end up poorly, but it may not. As much as Trump is not the guy I trust with foreign ‘war’ decisions, I’d expect we’ll find out something nefarious was up with the tanker. I’ll wait until a FACT or two come out to pass judgment.
