How is she a traitor if she is a Chinese citizen?

She is an American Citizen. Born here in the USA. No record of her ever renouncing her US citizenship. Still has US passport. So is considered to have dual citizenship. But China doesn’t allow such (except if you are a marketable gold medal winning Olympic athlete).

Her endorsement deals are well into 8 figures a year. She has figured out how to play both sides of the fence.

Well, under Chinese law she's eligible for Chinese citizenship. Let's assume China allowed her to keep her US citizenship, as well as paying her a boatload of money. what bothers you about this? She's not White and making money, she;s a woman making money, she doesn't compete under the US flag? I mean, have you objected to US dual citizens competing for other nations before, or just her?

I don’t object to her at all! I think she’s brilliant the way she has marketed herself on both sides of the Pacific.

My understanding of her ‘Chinese citizenship’ is that she’s eligible IF she renounces her US citizenship. She hasn’t, but as is often the case, if you are rich and famous, the laws don’t apply to you.

It’s funny how some athletes end up playing for countries they have very little to do with. There are plenty of examples of some who have never set foot in the country they are ‘representing’.

Well, she wasn't rich and famous when she started. She was very skilled, and China took note. Would it make you feel better if China allowed dual citizenship? Would it soothe your conservative Whiteness if she was a dual citizen of some other country?

Are you dense? I don’t care if she makes $1 billion. As I’ve said a few times, she has had genius management. Her color is of absolutely no concern to me. I just find it interesting that she is a dual citizen of a country that doesn’t allow dual citizenship!

Why do you care, if it turns out to be true?

You keep sniping at her marketability and her skill and her ability to play both sides of the fence. So, somehow, it must royally piss you off.

Who cares?

Without the Russians competing across the boad these Olympics are a poor shadow of their former self.

No, I'm not saying that I support Russia politically: I am only saying politics should be set aside for the Olympics.

What will happen in the next four years: will the USA be barred due to concerns about the policies of the fat oaf, e.g. Greenland, Venezuela, Iran?

It arguably should be, at least if the IOC had any cajones.

Russia would have been the 4th best hockey team? Certainly a candidate for a medal and a decent sized underdog for gold.

I’d say the lack of Russian ‘teams’ is barely a blip on the radar when thinking about these Winter Olympics. Their individual athletes were permitted to compete.

I am not sure exactly where I stand on this issue. I know if there was a WO in February of 1942 I don’t see us shaking hands with Japan after a hard fought luge race.

It won’t surprise me if a certain US President doesn’t allow a plethora of countries’ athletes here in 2028 for the Summer Olympics.

Russia and Belarus earned the bans by (a)waging an illegal war of territorial invasion and aggression and (b) In the case of Russia it;s state sponsored doping program. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

No matter Donny's policies of the fat oaf, he and the US don't come close to those actions. We haven't invaded Greenland (yet). We captured Maduro and got out of the country (so far) and we haven't invaded Iran (yet). Unless you want the bar for banning lowered.

We have the World Cup in 2026 in the US. Let;s see if certain nations are denied visas to compete. That will be a bellweather to how Donny will approach 2028.
