I wouldn't be totally surprised if Trump inadvertently killed some Iranian turncoats when he did the big strike on the Supreme leader. He did say the guys he thought he could work with are dead.

The fact that the fat oaf and his bagel-boy butt buddy from Israel attacked Iran without UN or European involvement shows the contempt he has for sharing the lime light.

Trump said now, that Iran was about to attack and try to take the whole middle east.

Like is he just going through a Rolodex of excuses? They had a nuke? They didn't have a nuke, but were building it? Israel was going to attack with or without is so we had to join? We talked Israel into an attack we wanted? Iran was about to annex the whole middle east? They were about to strike us directly? (May have missed some....)

I am very fearful we will be sending in ground troops by the end of the month. And, if this happens it will be U.S. ground troops with no Israel troops at all.

My opinion is that the main reason is that Iran was at it's weakest point in a long time.

I won't discount that there was something more, there was one report that their ballistic missiles were getting more and more worrisome with where they could reach. Of course I know nothing myself

I actually agree with your suspicion/assertion.

My problem is, that instead of being honest and saying, "Iran is weak and disjointed this year, we wanted to attack them while an opening was there."

Trump is doing the opposite and acting like they were an imminent threat and about to take over everything and start nuking the world. Come on...

I generally agree, but you can’t put your strategy out there! ‘We were waiting for some big protests there that would require a re-deployment of their military resources, then, boom!
But if that’s true, don’t you think it was SMART to wait until the opponent was at its weakest?

As far as ‘imminent’, I’ll agree that there was no specific imminent threat to us. The only imminent threat would be to the thousands of protesters who would be slaughtered.

Justification and strategy are very different. Especially after the attack is well under way, there is no hiding the ball now.

I don't buy for a moment Trump cares about the protesters other than it may be useful to justify regime change. I doubt Trump can even name the different cultural groups in Iran... He probably doesn't even understand the resistance groups or their leaders, that is why he just makes vague statements like "we will help play a hand in getting a very excellent leader....".

More innocent Iranians are going to die from our bombs and missiles than any protester abuse by many fold. And, if we do a ground invasion, I don't even know, the numbers will be incalculable. So, even if the argument was to minimize casualties (which I guarantee they don't actually care about,) we are taking the worst path for that goal.

I think he just loves exercising power
He couldn't do it 1st term because he hired adults that care more about the country then Trump.
2nd term he has all Yes people in place that only want to please Trump and don't give a crap about the country

Supposedly Israel hacked into Iran's traffic cameras mapping out where the Supreme leader went. Probably the other guys in top positions as well, and military related facilities.

Gotta be an easy hack compared to trying to go up against some fortified cyber security.
