Opposition to the war has only grown as the conflict drags on and as Trump struggles to negotiate a quick resolution. The resolution from the House does not immediately stop the war. It now goes to the Senate, where four Republican senators last month joined Democrats in advancing a similar measure to curtail the U.S. campaign against Iran. The Senate has yet to take a final vote." The question is, can the Senate vote be won? If Trump was smart he would get some Senators to flip, so he loses the vote, and take the out without looking weak. It's a win/win. |

Maybe I’m missing something? Can’t Trump just veto any bill that passes? Requiring 2/3 to override? Anyway, hasn’t ‘MAGA’ been against this war from the start? |

Trump can veto this bill. But, it would be a terrible look, that is why there is a big push to get it through the Senate, that way, Trump has to veto it and the optics will be terrible. So, effectively nothing will change, but it will make Trump look like even more of a warmonger who is violating the constitution. |

So I’m right? You think Trump cares one iota about ‘terrible look’? He will remind you that he is the smartest man on the planet, deride the few Republicans that voted with the Democrats, and then go play golf. I will be playing golf this afternoon as well. |
