I grew up a big Bond fan
I read all the Ian Fleming books. Even read the short stories.
A big fan of the Sean Connery Bond and the first 2 Roger Moore Bonds
The earlier the film, the more accurate representation of the book
By Roger Moore and onward, the films had nothing to do with the plot in the book. just used the name of the book.
I lost interest as the films diverged from the book.
I love reading a book 1st then seeing the movie. With Bond it got pointless.
Ian Fleming was about espionage.

On another note, EON (Everything or Nothing) productions is amazing in that its still run by the same family over 50 years. Wow.
Cubby Broccoli knew a good thing when he read Bond and totally locked up the rights with his partner
He has passed away but the family continues with Barbara Broccoli and her 1/2 brother continue to run EON productions and produce Bond.

The only Ian Fleming books I liked were by the Orkney Island ornithologist.

Daytime Soaps have been recasting actors for decades but still have the same names and profiles.

I don't know why everyone assumes Daniel Craig is done playing Bond...

I think he'll be back for at least one more.

I understand that they are still throwing money at him, but they want him to sign on for two more films.

Daniel Craig has been in seven $100m worldwide films outside of the Bond series, but most of the ones where he was the principal star have been considered financial failures. It's a lot of money to walk away from.

The Adventures of Tintin $374.0 2011 Par.
The Golden Compass $372.2 2007 NL
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider $274.7 2001 Par.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) $232.6 2011 Sony
Road to Perdition $181.0 2002 DW
Cowboys & Aliens $174.8 2011 Uni.
Munich $130.4 2005 Uni.

Here's what I expect from a modern James Bond film:

*in the beginning, a really good scene about an interesting place in the world. I agree about "Spectre" being disappointing but even it has a really good opening scene - Day of the Dead in Mexico City. Apparently the movie inspired doing a parade now, surprising that wasn't already a thing.

*a new Bond girl, of course

*the middle part of the movie stretching to the breaking point one's "suspension of disbelief", especially about Superhero abilities. And bad guys who can't hit the broad side of a barn.

*a plot twist and scene where there the villain has an irresistible urge to put Bond in a terrible situation sure to kill him, but left alone, everybody having walked away. Then the miraculous escape.

Just a minor cameo as a stormtrooper. 99% of people would have no idea it was him.

But that was when the Force awoke in Rey. It's the pivotal scene of the whole movie.

And funny, too. "And I will drop my weapon."

Here is the Daniel Craig scene in The Force Awakens:

Exactly.

That's when Rey uses the Force, deliberately and on purpose, for the first time. That's the scene that contains the movie's title.
