i watched one movie as a kid that scared me for at least 2 days straight. I get it, that a movie you see as a kid doesn't necessarily have to be good to scare you.

Quote:
one fateful night at my friend’s house, where I sat trembling behind a giant, tasselled cushion for the best part of two hours. The source of my terror? The critically eviscerated Robert De Niro horror film Hide and Seek, which had just been released on DVD.

To proper grown-ups – including film critics – the movie, which starred De Niro and Dakota Fanning as a father and creepy daughter left alone after a mother’s suicide, was “silly”. The Guardian called the script “insultingly bad” and asked: “What have we done to deserve this?” But to me, this tale of an imaginary friend who murders people’s cats and girlfriends, leaving them lying in bloody bathtubs, was absolutely harrowing. It was the first and last horror film I have ever watched.

I remember that Hide and Seek. I worked at a theater when it came out.

The twist was Robert DeNiro had a split personality and was the imaginary friend who was killing everyone.

Terrifier 3

Hard to believe this unrated, gore-exploitation film was allowed to be shown in multiplexes. Back when I worked at a movie theater in college our chain would NEVER show a movie that bypassed the MPAA rating board.

This movie is extremely depraved, and I loved it. Nothing is off limits. Extreme gore. Children getting hacked to pieces with an axe. Blasphemous religious imagery. Can’t wait for the 4th.

This week I started watching a show called "Your Honor" on Netflix. I am on Season one episode six and it is pretty good so far. It stars the lead actor from Breaking Bad. He plays a judge who's son hits and kills a motorcycle rider. The judge takes his son to the police station to confess but finds out the dead boy is the son of the mafia boss. Worried for his sons life the judge begins covering up the crime.

The original 1963 film "The Haunting"

I saw most of it this last weekend.

A couple remakes involved no less than Spielberg, Stephen King and Wes Craven. But they all fail to capture the original creepiness of the original IMO.

I'm not sure why it works better but the main actress was actually depressed and had trouble interacting with the other actors during the filming. And the scriptwriter mistakenly thought it was more about a mental breakdown even though the book was actually about ghosts. So maybe it was an accidental freak of success.

Recommendation: best watched alone in the dark at night.

I had no idea Brad Pitt was in Deadpool2. Then I thought it was a joke made up by Renyolds. But he's right there in IMDB credits.

I tried to watch a movie Spielberg favored on one of those TCM features. "40 guns" The cinematography was great as were the sets, but the dialogue was often painful. I don't think it was the actors' fault though.

I still have Fellini's 8 1/2 on my DVR. Twice I've started it but not finished it. I quit because I feel I need to be in mood to pay full attention to it.
