To each his own.

I enjoy driving and have places to go and people to see so I often leave the house.

Health permitting, I drive to the health club six days a week to work out and then ride my bike a couple miles in the afternoon.

I often go shopping for things Amazon doesn't deliver, typically baguettes, sliced ham, cheese and olives and gasoline.

Until recently I've driven to the Oregon coast three or four times a month to visit my ill Navy veteran buddy and to gamble at Chinook Winds.

The wife and I go out to eat a couple times a week, and I like to visit my son, dtr in law and grandson.

But I can understand how and why you choose to stay home: I'd be nervous too were I unvaccinated for covid.

Wow you're as active as a 22-year-old. Not bad for somebody who's almost 80. Of course I don't believe a word you say, but this is the internet you can be anything you want. And on top of all of that you spend hours a day here. Leaving the house a dozen times a day, running all over the county, constantly on the move constantly doing things, as an elderly person you must be exhausted. Lol

You foolishly claim I am almost 80...I'm far from it as I've oft told you.

My claims are true: I am much more active than you, apparently.

Whatever...life is to be lived fully, not observed from afar, cloaked in fear and / or misanthropy as seems to be your wont.

"Misanthropy is the general hatred, dislike, or distrust of the human species, human behavior, or human nature."

You're the misanthropic one here, old man. You're the self admitted troll, you're the one that admitted you love to bait people just to get a reaction out of them. You never deny that you said it because you know you did. That's a person who hates humanity not me. I don't hate anything or anybody. You're nothing but a Debbie Downer, you never ever have anything positive to say about anything. Because trolls never do.

So says the dude who shacks up with cats and finds excuses to never leave the house.

I resemble that remark. My wife and I sold both our cars and bought a new one six months ago. I noticed today when I actually left the house that we put 2100 miles on it in the last six months. I don't get out much.

I bought my van in April 2021 so will be 4 years in April. It has 4,000 more miles on it than what I bought it, that's 1,000 miles a year. I fill the gas tank roughly every 5 months. It spends all its time sitting in the garage waiting for me.

"Old man?"

Bwa ha ha ha

Project much, do ya, grandpa?

Yeah, I troll: so do you, and you're years older than I am.

Your misanthropy oozes out of your posts about never being around people, only cats: your social and political paranoia underscores the depth of your illness.

As for your claim that I hate humanity: it was me, not you, that practiced law for forty years, the last half in family law, helping people in their time of need.

I truly enjoyed it, even though it wasn't as lucrative as the personal injury practice I walked away from twenty years into practicing law, but even at that I'm now in the top two percent.

What did you do?

What did you accomplish?

You owned a bar enabling alcoholics while mindlessly yakking about the problems of the world with a bunch of drunks.

All you're left with now is herding cats and spewing balderdash: what a legacy.

You sound like my grandmother! She had a car she put about 1,000 miles a year. She took it to church and the grocery store, usually in the same trip.

Like me she probably had no other place to go. You don't work, most of your friends are retired or gone or dead. Your kids have all moved away, and don't want to see you anyway. These days I don't need to go to the library, or the bookstore, and everything else gets delivered. What else is there to do, just get in your car and drive around? My wife is the same way, she doesn't go anywhere for a week sometimes because there's no damn place to go. I guess people go out to eat but you literally could not pay me to eat out in a restaurant now. I've always hated restaurant food, it's bland and overcooked and yuck. But people think it's great because the food they make for themselves at home is so freaking bad restaurant food seems like a real treat to them.

this statement was put out to make readers fear the defunding of USAID. Why has it made me sure of the complete opposite?

In the last year alone, USAID committed $22 million to help farming communities in Iraq deal with climate-related drought and $18.5 million for climate resilience measures in Palestine.”
