I have only been to Spokane for business but I liked it too. I also think it is the perfect size of a city to live in.

Had lunch at a fine establishment called Clinkerdagger
Restaurant had a beautiful view of the river
Chicken Cobb salad
Delicious
25 bucks with the tip
Due to worker shortages, I always tip 20 to 25%

If you haven't already you should check out the ceiling in the restored Davenport Hotel as well as lots of history on the walls.

Pic I took probably not far from the Davenport
Was on my bike and stuck to the downtown area
When it comes to hotels
All gilt and flash is nice
But
More fascinated by the old ones
This hotel was in a ghost town in Montana, old abandoned mining town Garnett
Entrance, dining room, kitchen, hotel room

“Vermont is offering people $7,500 to relocate to the state and work in its most in-demand jobs as it looks to ease the labor crunch.

To be eligible for the grant, out-of-staters must have moved to Vermont on or after July 1, 2021, and become a full-time employee of a Vermont employer in a role that has been listed by the state's Department of Labor as most in-demand. The list of 50 jobs, includes anything from fast-food, restaurant, and retail workers to construction and farm workers.

Workers must also earn a living wage or above, which is currently $13.39 an hour, the state said.“

Davenport was built in 1914 and was the most modern hotel in the US when it was built. Check it out on line. First hotel with a built-in vacuum system. Spokane was a more important city then Seattle was when the hotel was built.

I almost moved to Spokane: it was a coin flip between attending law school there or at Lewis & Clark in Portland.

Glad I chose Portland.

I have spent a bit of time in Spokane, it is OK but overall too cold in the winter and dry year round to suit me.

Of course there's a casino near by.

Is it large with possible good new player promotion
The casinos in Montana are tiny due to some law.
No promotions
Gambling bores me. No interest unless there is an edge
Last real gambling I did was Red Rocks Vegas, video poker because the sequential royal was massive.

I haven't checked the casio(s) out, sorry.

Not sure as to your plans after Spokane; if you've the time you might want to wander down toward Lake Chelan, near Wenatchee.

We vacation there occasionally; nice lake, nice town, small casino nearby.

Lots of fresh fruit grown and now being harvested in that area.
