Many French Riviera towns in France have banned the burkini
What an absurd ban
Its illegal to where too much clothing to the beach
Worried about sun, the Riviera towns don't care.
Now there are pictures of heavily armed police harassing female beach goers with children.
Those pictures make France look really bad.

Sounds a bit suspicious, aye?

Quote:
A well-known Russian journalist and critic of President Vladimir Putin has been found dead in his Kiev apartment with a gunshot wound to the head.
The body of Alexander Shchetinin, founder the Novy Region (New Region) press agency, was found at his flat after friends tried to visit him on his birthday.

A police spokesperson said Kiev forces were alerted of Ms Schetinin’s death at around midnight on Saturday. He is believed to have died a few hours earlier, between 8 and 9.30pm.

Officials have speculated that his death was caused by suicide, after a gun was found near his body along with spent cartridges, and the door to his apartment was said to be locked.

Local news source Kyiv Operatyvni reported: “Alexander was sitting on a chair with a gunshot wound to the head (under the chair was a gun).”
“Alexander was sitting on a chair, with a gunshot wound to his head, the gun was lying under the chair. According to credible sources, the case has been classified as suicide, as Alexander sent an email to one of his loved ones where he said he wanted to kill himself.”

Read a little real history tp not just internet crap. The French have had a law for over a hundred years disallowing any religious items in public. It was passed then to curb the Catholic church. A Catholic nation and it is against the law to wear a crucifix in public in France. I might agree that it is a stupid law but it should be applied equally to all religious items.

Covering yourself is a religious practice in some religions
The burkini itself is not a religious item.
Jewish men cover their head for religious purposes yet wearing caps and hats is not seen as a religious item.

I don't consider Wikipedia a definitive source but I don't have the time to look up the quote from the original designer but wouldn't this "The design is intended to accord with Islamic traditions of modest dress." make it a religious item.

As for the Jews depends it depends upon the covering. I think a skull cap is definitely a religious headgear.

A story on getting dogs to lie still for 8 minutes in an MRI scanner.

Quote:
At the beginning, it seemed logical that we needed highly trained dogs with a calm temperament. None of these hypotheses turned out to be true. There were many trained dogs that turned out to be perfect and some highly trained dogs that failed, because they wanted to do something. They wanted to do their best, but they couldn’t understand that here the task is doing nothing. Usually these dogs were trained using many treats. When they couldn’t get their treat in half a minute or so, then they were frustrated and we couldn’t use them. Some other dogs didn’t understand that they were required to stay absolutely motionless. They always moved a little bit or they licked their mouth every third minute. And that’s enough to ruin the whole test.

Of course dogs understand a lot of
what we say, just own one for a few
years. My dog constantly anticipates
me, it's really an amazing thing. You
know there is no doubt you and him
are communicating. Mans best friend
is not just a casual saying, it's the truth.

Unlike a woman, a dog is always thrilled
to see you, always wants to do what you
want to do, never finds fault, never
criticizes, and loves you with all his
being. They also make much better
companions.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Trump is in Mexico right now having a news
conference. I can't imaging Hillary doing that
under any circumstances. He looks more
presidential every day and she looks more
pathetic. When we actually see her that is,
she's in hiding most of the time.

He wimped out.

Didn't even bring up the wall in their meeting or who would pay for it?!?

Waste of everyone's time...

Too bad for him, there are about 6 hours of soundbites from the last 14 months showing him saying horrible things about Mexicans. One news conference won't change anything.
