Obama signed his bill in March 2010. They had 6 years to research, discuss, and write up a replacement. They had 6 years to interview doctors, nurses, economists, insurance executives, drug company reps, hospital administrators, Tea Party activists, etc. They had 6 years to circulate written drafts between various Senators, Governors, Congressmen.

They also had another six years to do all that between 2001-2007 and also did nothing.

Boo freaking hoo.

Repealing Obamacare has been uncomfortably slower than Republicans had predicted. Much slower.

They had 6 years to study the successes & failures of Obama's experiment.

It turns out the Republicans spent 6 years doing nothing. Just complaining.

At the very least, why didn't the Congressional GOP leaders form a working group on November 10 to start writing a bill? It's already February 2017, and I'm beginning to think they haven't even started writing a bill yet. Maybe if we give them another 6 years they can put something together....

Nor have they repeated any of the 50 some odd votes that they took when Obama was president, now that they actually have the power to pass those things.

It shows what completely empty jestures those were, which they had absolutely no intention of actually passing, knowing with each measure they had the safety valve of an Obama veto to fall back on.

Fulfilling a promise to do something evil and stupid, and badly and hastily at that, is far from praiseworthy. He's a rank amateur trying to do a professional's job. Hitler fulfilled most of his promises, too.

And I for one think the media SHOULD "go crazy" when tens of thousands of people are being hurt for no good reason. That bothers me. I know it gives Trumpers shivery chills every time a Muslim is deprived of his/her rights, but we as a nation are supposed to be better than that.

ah, the media. Love that the rioters were called protesters, then and elderly man was injured were the protesters accidentally tripped, or an elderly couple were unintentionally knocked to the ground by protesters. And the violence " protesters" at Berkley who belive in free speech, only if you agree with them. and of course the facility approving of the rioter's action.

and tonight on tv I heard Majority of American do not approve of Trumps ban.

So a slim majority prefer the ban to open borders?

That's a ridiculous statement, as "open borders" is not the only alternative to the ban. The status quo ante is certainly one such alternative. It's pointless and silly to say that those who oppose the ban are in favor of open borders, and though you keep saying that, Duffy, it simply isn't true. And it won't be true the next time you say it, either. Or the time after that.

Well, that's not what the poll asked--it did not say, would you prefer the Trump ban or open borders?

It's ridiculous to say that anyone who doesn't approve of the Orange Asshole's edict must be in favor of open borders. That's a failure of logic that would shame a five-year-old--not a Trumper, though, apparently.

Hawaii bill would legalize prostitution industry

Too hard to tell from the article, but looks more like reducing it to a traffic ticket at most and not NV-style regulation. The fact that it is being pushed as a transgender-rights thing makes it suspect in that regard. An activist says transgender women are "disproportionately impacted by criminalization laws."

The only way I can see that happening is cops are more likely to target them as they are more likely to rob their johns. Or they may be more likely to end up as hookers so just get swept up.

Are we getting to the point that critical mass is there to get prostitution to follow the same path marijuana is currently on?
