There are other possible side effects that are less pleasant. Eyes set widely apart and hearing loss among them.

I thought it was interesting because most people think of hereditary defects as producing negative reactions. The eye result probably does the opposite.

Except where pale blue eyed people are run through with swords or whatever.

"In fact, the whole state of Texas has an obesity problem. According to the 2016 "State of Obesity" report, Texas has the tenth-highest rate in the country. (Louisiana has the highest.) More than one out of every three Texans is obese. That's a sharp increase since 1990, when closer to one out of every 10 Texans was."

One out of three, I would swear it's 3
out of 4..

How I feel about marijuana.

OK
What I find interesting is that I have several friends my age that never smoked it earlier in life
but now smoke pot and enjoy it
Where as tobacco
I never ever hear about anybody in my age group deciding to take up tobacco
I don't have the foggiest reason why somebody would actually smoke tobacco.

The obesity rate in Texas isn't much different from the rate in Michigan.

It sure looks higher. I'm betting the people
in TX are fatter in their obesity then MI.
The stats don't differentiate between 250
and 350 or 400 pounds. Obese is obese
to a stat. Some of these black women
in the shelters have 4' wide asses, they
must use 3 toilets at once. A cheek on
the outer two and do your business
in the middle one. PT Barnum would
be thrilled, he had a hard time finding
fat people for his side shows in the 1800's.

Whatever. I still don't get it. Would be one thing if I was in extreme pain and needed a relief. Otherwise not much for having some cloudy feeling. The effects last longer than people think, slows the mind down.

I have asked younger people. I have found the answer. The reason always, and I mean always, starts,

"Well, at first I only smoked when I would be out drinking and........................................................"

I smoked dope for over a year, almost every
day. It shuts down a part of your brain, that's
where the 'high' feeling comes from. It turns
off critical thinking and makes even the
stupidest movie, TV show, or conversation
seem entertaining. Dope is for people who's
idea of life is to not live in it, but apart from it.

I got sick of the feeling and quit, like most normal
people do. Everybody I knew that continued
to smoke was what I would call a loser today. In
those days they were called 'laid back'. Conversations
with them were a waste of time.

Guys I knew smoked lots of it, even when not smoking it, having a conversation with them was like when someone calls into a radio show with their radio on and can't make conversation because of the several second bleep-button delay. Don't get me started on how lazy they would end up. No thanks.

There will be defenders here any minute that
say it doesn't do that to them at all. That's the
hilarious thing, they ALL say that dope has no
effect on them when they aren't smoking it.
Of course it does, how could it not. And how would
you know the effect, you're the observer observing
the observed.

The young healthy energetic and light weight people flew to Vegas for a vacation; the poor unhealthy who eat poorly and do not exercise stayed behind and got filmed at shelters. Selection bias.
