Huh?!? Why would you say this? There were 17,000 Indians in the San Francisco Bay Area by the time the Spanish arrived in 1770, and at least 300,000 statewide (though there are respected historians who estimate 700,000). The San Andreas Fault affects most of coastal California, earthquakes aren't unique to San Francisco. |

Arguably one of the best Evenbob quotes ever. The storm has unloaded over 50 inches of rain east of Houston, the greatest amount ever recorded in the Lower 48 states from a single storm. Other than that, the storm has been a total pussy. Harmless, even. |

Thanks. In fact, the deadliest hurricane in US history was in TX in 1900. Killed 10K-12K people, destroyed 3600 buildings. Winds over 135 mph. Harvey was a pussy compared to that. It rained a lot, oh no.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Yes there were, there was even a US Weather Bureau. They got the place it made landfall wrong. Doesn't change the fact that Harvey pales by comparison. I believe the people in 1900 would have taken 50 deaths and flooding over what they got. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Galveston 1900 was Category 4. Harvey? Category 4. And yes, Harvey's wind also exceeded 130 mph. |

You can argue with lack of empathy all day long and it will get you nowhere. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |
