I probably should start this on the other board, but this whole tariff thing Trump is doing is the closest thing to gambling I've seen in politics lately.

Trump has already set the mechanics of the bet in motion.


1. While it's not an all-in by Trump, any backing down is a loser position.

2. How far is he willing to go? How far can he go until he reaches an untenable bluff situation? That is, where he is getting political or public pressure to quit.

3. Trump reaching out secretly will just be considered a sign of weakness, especially likely in China.

4. No guarantee this is winning situation in the long run, also, we're moving into midterms as well. This may play out as much or more than the immigration situation.
