Because as the left loves illegal immigration they should say, "go ahead, build it" knowing it will not slow the tide. Distract your opponent.

That's silly. The left is playing this just right.

Let Donald shut the government down over the stupid wall. Republicans control the entire government. Mexico isn't going to pay for it. No one to blame but the GOP and the stupid voters who actually believed his con.

FWIW, Israel put up a wall and suicide bonmbers are no longer a problem.

Trump called Rush on his show today
and said he's vetoing the bill and
shutting down if he doesn't get
the money for the wall.

About flipping time. The GOP will soon wonder why guys like me stop showing up to vote for them in Congress if they do not get their act together.

So, you do not lock your front door as a lock is very easy to overcome?

It doesn't cost me $25 billion to lock my front door.

What I do not understand is if the wall "will not work" then why is the left so up in arms over the idea?

Why? Because President BoneSpurs told us repeatedly that Mexico would pay for it. How will shutting down the U.S. government convince Mexico to pay for it?

And illegal aliens entering your house will not cost taxpayers for welfare, schooling, and other costs.

"The president got word to me 20 minutes ago that if it comes back to him without money, if whatever happens in the House and Senate comes back to him with no allocation of $5 billion for the wall than he’s going to veto it,” Limbaugh told his listeners on his radio show just moments after Trump met with members of Congress on Thursday.

Gotta agree with ams here. There are many conservatives, and even a bunch of middle of the roaders, who are against illegal immigration, but do not feel that this single minded focus on 'the wall' is the way to handle the problem. And even fewer think it is worth a government shutdown with all the crap that entails. Just so you know, during a government 'shutdown', meaning there is no one to accept my bills for Medicare patients, I can't stop taking care of those patients. We are just told that we will 'eventually' get paid when the kerfuffle is over. The government may 'shut down' but they force me to keep working....

So you get paid a couple weeks later. These things never last long and are no
Big deal. For many federal employees it is a paid vacation.

The wall is not “ single minded.” It is part of a larger plan. Walls work. Shut it down!

"Walls work" is questionable. What I want for our leader to say is this..... "Border security is inadequate. We need to devote more funds to tackle this problem. Be it more guards, drones, better walls or fences, etc., border security has to be a priority. I will be consulting our security experts as to what is the best use of our resources to improve border security."

Berlin wall, Israels wall, Great Wall of China,
they all worked. There are now 77 borders
walls around the world and more are coming,
because they work. That's why Dems don't
want it here, it works. They need the hungry
and the stupid to flood across the border
and vote for their welfare state.
