Just finished the Queens Gambit
Loved it
You really dont have to know chess to enjoy it
I found myself sometimes freezing the action sometimes to study the board
I just found out the games played were based on historic games
Here is a video reviewing the games from a chess perspective

He analyzed several of the games that were in the series.

It looks like HBO MAX will not charge a premium for Wonder Woman 1984. You just join up for the standard fee.

I wonder how many people will join for one month, just to watch the movie.

Excerpt from Searching For Bobby Fischer (1993,

I've seen this movie half a dozen
times. I played competitive chess
until I was about 19, I was in the
middle somewhere. I gave it up
because I was becoming obsessed
with it, I started thinking everything
in life was like a chess move. I was
plotting and planning like I was in
the middle of a chess game. Have
never played since.

My 85 year old former priest friend
takes chess lessons on Skype 3
times a week from a master in
Thailand. He even pays to enter
tournaments worldwide and
does pretty well. I have better
things to do..

Not me, the first one was ridiculous.
Watching a 115 pound woman be
Hercules/Thor/Conan for 2 hours
is way too comical to take seriously.

The 2017 film grossed $341,000,000 in domestic box office in 30 days of which the studio gets to keep about half.
So $170,500,000 divided by $15 (HBO MAX membership for one month) is just over 11 million.

If Warner gets 10 million new subscribers and 40% of them stay with the service, they can probably consider themselves ahead of the game.

Tenet grossed $56,300,000 at the domestic box office of which the studio gets to keep about half.
So $28,150,000 divided by $15 (HBO MAX membership for one month) is just under 2 million subscribers. So Warner Brothers clearly blew it by releasing the film in theaters.

Extraction pulled in 100 million viewers on Netflix.

I personally don't understand how people watch tv or movies. I know I waste my time watching football and golf, but watching movies and most tv just never resonated with me. I may watch one movie a year that I haven't seen before and almost no tv series. Although, I recently watched a series called House that I enjoyed.

4th of The Crown on Nflix. Gillian
Anderson is killing it as Margret
Thatcher. Best series ever on
Nflix, had to cost a fortune
to produce.
