They've been doing something, which sounds like ancillary services. The actual building should begin late this year as far as I can tell. I've no idea exactly where it is. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Green is the current airport, Red was the original plan for new airport in 2001 Blue is the new plan Distances are not far, but 10 miles in Mexico City can take forever. The subway will have to be extended to the new airport. The cost would be huge for the USA, it is massive for Mexico Toluca is 33 air miles away, and there was once a plan to make it a reliever airport Puebla is 50 air miles away, and it has almost no commercial service Querétaro is 109 miles away and has regional jets Guadalajara (286 miles) and Monterrey (441 miles) are the other two major hubs in Mexico
Lake Texcoco was the massivelake that surrounded the original Aztec city, Tenochtitlan, that Mexico City was built on. The image just shows the clean water portion of the lake, with a massive dike that separated it from the gray water. When Cortez destroyed the city, it was more elaborate than any city in Europe. But while the Lake is mostly filled in today, the airport is being built on the old lake bed. |

One time it took me a little over an hour to move under 250 meters. That's not the bad part. The bad part is that same distance at that place under average conditions takes about ten minutes. Often 15-20 minutes. Under good conditions, which are rare or late at night, it takes under sixty seconds. No doubt the new airport will come with a brand new toll highway to get to it. No doubt this highway will be fast. And no doubt getting to the highway will take hours. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

It looks like there will be entrances from Route 136D (Autopista Peñon - Texoco) and Carretera Federal 57D (Circuito Exterior Mexiquense) Mass transit will extend from subway line B to the new airport. It may be a new line (< 3 miles) rather than an extension. I looked at the video again and it implied that there would be three universities in Ecatepec that would be closest to the feeder line to the airport. One is clearly Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Ecatepec (Tecnológico stop on line B) Av. Tecnológico S/N, Valle de Anahuac, 55210 Ecatepec de Morelos, Méx., Mexico tese.edu.mx The second is probably UNAM - FES Aragón (Metro Nezahualcoyotl stop on line B) Av. Rancho Seco s/n, Impulsora Popular Avicola, 57130 Nezahualcóyotl, Méx., Mexico aragon.unam.mx |
