I think we've all done stuff that in retrospect might be a little dumb

That's the point of the award, to showcase
the truly over the top dumb stuff. The
dead guy won't mind.

Close. Penny is Gary Marshall's sister. The father of
Gary and Penny was Tony Marshall, who owned
the family firm that:

.".became a force in the television division at Paramount Studios, producing a number of long-running comedy shows for ABC, including ''The Odd Couple,'' which starred Tony Randall and Jack Klugman; ''Happy Days,'' with Ron Howard and Henry Winkler, and ''Mork and Mindy,'' with Robin Williams. Mr. Marshall also was a producer of ABC's ''Laverne and Shirley,'' which starred his daughter Penny as Laverne and Cindy Williams as Shirley. He retired from television in the early 1980's."

I saw Gary Marshall on some talk show promoting his new movie "Mothers Day."

He should be on everyone's list. He is clearly not well.

Yep. He was clearly not well for a while.

Jack Davis passed away
I absolutely adored his work for Mad Magazine
You always looked closely at his intricate work to catch all the jokes
Here is a video showing different pages of his book of works

John McLaughlin passed away
Couple decades ago, I used to watch his show every week
It was a fun discussion of the political issues of the times
He got rid of Jack Germond and I lost interest in the show
I haven't watched in decades
RIP

Hugh O'Brian has passed. He was best known for starring in The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp television show that ran from 1955 - 1961. He was also in a 70's show called Search that was a precursor to the current Person of Interest or Scorpion, where agents use "high tech" communication implants to get info from "HQ".

Mr. O'Brian was also supposed to be in a project called Old Soldiers which was supposed to be a road trip comedy/adventure/ drama about some WWII vets going on the road to the the memorial in Washington, D.C.

Apparently, folks cast for this movie are dying before it can be finished:
-- Mickey Rooney was originally supposed to have a role in the film, but he died in 2014.
-- James Best (best known for his role as Roscoe P. Coltrane on the Dukes of Hazzard was also cast as one of the three buddies, but passed away in April of 2015. His role was re-written for Rance Howard.
-- Doris Roberts (best known for Everybody Loves Raymond was originally supposed to get top billing, but she passed away in April of this year.

I have nothing but respect for Hugh
O'Brian. In 1958 he started Hugh O'Brian
Youth Leadership Foundation, which
is still going strong.

"HOBY sponsors 10,000 high school sophomores annually through its over 70 leadership programs in all 50 states and 20 countries. Since its inception in 1958, over 435,000 young people have participated in HOBY-related programs."

He was an amazing guy who made it
into showbiz accidentally, as lot of
men did in the 40's and 50's.
