Guns are easy to use. Really, cars are the best comparison. But the removal of cars would impact society massively. Or at least , guns by comparison would be trivial compared to restricting or removing car usage.

But cars are not a Constitutional Right, guns are. However, you still seem to forget that few if any of these gun crimes are committed by law-abiding conceal-carry permit holders. This would be the same as closing every casino becuse some people have back-door games and cause problem gamblers to get in debt to loan sharks. The legal casino has done nothing wrong, yet such a move would punish them. Same as most gun laws. Why punish the law-abiding owner?

And to say "because they do not 'need a gun'" is not a valid answer.

1. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves against their ethnic-cleansing government, were arrested and exterminated.

2. In 1929, the former Soviet Union established gun control as a means of controlling the “more difficult” of their citizens. From 1929 to the death of Stalin, 40 million Soviets met an untimely end at the hand of various governmental agencies as they were arrested and exterminated.

5. Closer to home, Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayans, unable to defend themselves against their ruthless dictatorship, were arrested and exterminated.

6. Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves from their dictatorial government, were arrested and exterminated.

7. Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million of the “educated” people, unable to defend themselves against their fascist government, were arrested and exterminated.

8. In 1994, Rwanda disarmed the Tutsi people and being unable to defend themselves from their totalitarian government, nearly one million were summarily executed.

Actually criminals often do not carry the top-of-the-line in firearms. They are more prone to carry a Saturday-Night-Special easily tossed.

Well, it that stat has any merit, limiting gun purchases to people who get concealed permits BEFORE purchasing would be an improvement.

Not manufacturing cheap handguns in the U.S would be another. I'd guess cheap handguns are probably the major source of gun homocides by criminals, if that stat also has merit.

Yeah, you might have to spend more, but how many guns are you going to need in a lifetime? Most have fairly long life. Just make the intial entry purchase less inviting.

I'd suggest a rebate after 2 years, if the gun is not used in any criminal act, if you think making guns expensive to start with too onerous.

edit, by rebate, I mean delayed rebate. At 2 years you could go in and fill out a claim for hundreds of dollars which would be kept in escrow from the purchase time.

Actually they were murdered by a disturbed individual. Guns don't kill proe, people kill people.

You have the freedom of speech to insult customers or students
A company or school has the right to fire you due to the speech hurting business.
regardless if you are fired, you still have freedom of speech.
