You definitely said you watched it during the Sarah Palin era. So when were you lying, now or then?

I never watch it, haven't in decades. Seeing
a youtube video once in awhile isn't the
same as watching the show. You know that,
right? I couldn't name a single cast member
from the last 20 years if you offered me
a million dollars. I saw just one video of
Baldwin and thought he was awful. I'm
certainly not alone in that. I also haven't
listened to Rush in the last 10 years. I
go and read the transcripts of his show
every day. Much faster.

I'm actually in agreement about SNL being a shell of its former self. It's unfunny 90% of the time. The cast sucks for the most part (except for Kate McKinnon). The current Weekend Update guys are probably the worst in the show's history.

But every now and then they have a great sketch (see Black Jeopardy with Tom Hanks).

And, of course, Alec Baldwin as Trump. It doesn't even matter if his impression is good or not. All that matters is that it gets under Donald's thin skin and he has to tweet about it every single time. He's got serious mental problems.

So all that matters about Rush is that
for 8 years he got under Obama's
thin skin and drove him nuts. Just
last Friday, Obama was still whining
and wringing his hands about Rush,
just like he has all thru his presidency.

"the ability of Republican leaders to rile up their base — helped along with by folks like Rush Limbaugh.. — I think created an environment in which Republican voters would punish Republicans for cooperating with me. That hothouse of back-and-forth argument — and really sharp partisanship — I think has been harmful to the country."

Whine whine whine for 8 solid years,
poor thin skinned Obama. It hasn't
been harmful to the country, but it
sure as hell harmed the Democrat Party.
Over 1200 Dem seats lost since Obama
took office, they are barely in charge
anywhere anymore, thanks to Barry.

It's got ups and downs. It was great when Eddie Murphy, Joe Piscoppo, Tim Kazurinzky, and Julia Louis Dreyfus were on the cast. Then it got not as funny, then it got better, then it went down, ten....

The last I watched it regularly was when Tina Fey and Amy Pohler were on the Weekend Update.

Back in the 80s they did things they wouldn't dare do today. No doubt f the show is still on by 2030, we'll say that "in the 2010s they did things they wouldn't dare to do today." But about the one consistent feature is making fun and mocking the sitting president, regardless of politics.

Though there were exceptions. Reagan had an image in the media as a senescent, old fool, and most sketches exaggerated this. but there was one in which he's shown as a decisive, ruthless master-mind, giving terse, direct orders to his cabinet, and playing the senescent, old fool when the public or the media show up.

Which just shows flattery can be used to mock someone.

The Voyager Principle: every TV show in production long enough will perforce have a few outstanding episodes, given how many chances are inherent in each multi-episode season.

The Babylon 5 Corollary: every TV show with high writing standards and reliably good episodes, will perforce have a few awful episodes, given how many chances are inherent in each multi-episode season.

SNL doesn't really have static writing staff, so it's always bound to change sooner or later. Sometimes they are awash in talent, but mostly it's sporadic with a few here and there who stand out.

Oh no, you mean the CGI and the
Clinton Foundation really was just
a front to get big money for favors
for President Hillary? The FBI will
get to the bottom of this soon,
you can depend on it.

The Clinton Global Initiative’s Ignominious End

"Why would foreign governments suddenly lose interest in the charitable work the Clinton Foundation purported to do? They wouldn’t, unless the Clinton Foundation and CGI had existed to give foreign governments and businessmen a way to curry favor with a future president from the beginning. The April shutdown, then, makes complete sense: Why keep operating if there’s no influence left to peddle?"

This is like the time you tried to pretend Obama's skin was orange and Donald's isn't.

Nobody is buying the B.S. you are selling (except Duffy).

No one has thinner skin than Donald. No one.

So you haven't seen Obama whining for
8 years about Fox and Rush. Sure you
have. Remember in 08 the press couldn't
mention Obama's ears? There was a
whole list of things Obama was sensitive
about. Talk about thin skinned. The I--Me-My
president. Mr Ego.

None of that even comes close to comparing with Mr. Golden Shower's thin skin.

It's really grabbing at straws to take one of Trump's very worse traits and try to make it shine. Shines like a turd.
