Good. Only seems fitting we have our first lesbian President.

How would Trump handle that?! Getting beaten badly by an old lesbian!! Oh how embarassing this will be for him...

Been done before!

Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurdardóttir (born October 4, 1942) came to power in Iceland following the country's economic collapse in late 2008 and was PM from Feb. 1, 2009 - May 23, 2013.

Jóhanna married Þorvaldur Steinar Jóhannesson in 1970 and the couple had two sons named Sigurður Egill Þorvaldsson and Davíð Steinar Þorvaldsson (born 1972 and 1977). After their divorce in 1987, she joined in a civil union with Jónína Leósdóttir (born 1954), an author and playwright, in 2002.

A member of the Icelandic social democratic party, her government passed same-sex marriage legislation in 2010 which allowed her to marry her longtime partner, writer Jónína Leósdóttir while in office. In 2010, when same-sex marriage was legalized in Iceland, Jóhanna and Jónína changed their civil union into a marriage, thus becoming one of the first same-sex married couples in Iceland.

Bill and Hillary are just five years younger than Sigurður and Jóhanna. They were married in 1975 and Chelsea was born February 27, 1980.

How long do you figure it will be before the Orange Man unloads a load of invective on Mike Pence?

That is, assuming Pence doesn't withdraw his name from the ticket first.

Also, do you figure Cruz is done kicking himself over having caved in and endorsed Trump? It's only been a couple of days, after all.

Go Trump!

Yes, many people seem to think he should just go.

Gone kinda quiet on here it seems. The early 'junk' polls for the debate put it firmly as a Trump win. From what I've seen, there's very little evidence for it being a steaming Trump win.

"Nonetheless, Trump supporters appear to still be flooding these things. Trump’s getting 77 percent in a Heavy.com junk poll asking who won tonight’s debate, an identical 77 percent in Fox 5 San Diego’s and 90 percent in Drudge Report’s."

I don't think that Trump will do as well as Romney. RCP lists 9 states that are solid Trump which is two less than the 11 states Romeny won by highest percentages.

TRUMP/PENCE (49) SOLID
Wyoming (3)
Idaho (4)
Oklahoma (7)
West Virginia (5)
Arkansas (6)
Kentucky (8)
Nebraska (4)
Alabama (9)
North Dakota (3)

Romney (highest percentages)
Utah 72.79%
Wyoming 68.64%
Idaho 64.53%
Oklahoma 66.77%
West Virginia 62.30%
Arkansas 60.57%
Kentucky 60.49%
Kansas 59.71%
Nebraska (at-large) 59.80%
Alabama 60.55%
North Dakota 58.32%

How about a kickstarter to get Trump a nicely appointed dustbin for his political career?

At some point, the GOP needs to stop fighting the 1992 election. It's been over for 24 years, after all, and there's little to be gained by beating Bill Clinton now.

The Democrats stopped fighting the 2000 election only in 2008.

On to other things, should Trump drag down the GOP down-ticket and hand Clinton a Democratic-controlled Senate (I don't think the Dems can win the House either now or in 2018), we're in for 4 long years of major gridlock. Look for the GOP to play keep-away with the budget (thus closing the government), the debt-ceiling, and every law the administration tries to pass. On the plus side, the Senate confirms Supreme Court nominations, so look for pointless filibusters as far as the eye can see. I suggest reading science or history books into the record, in the hope that might do some good.
