How many think that Slip and Fall action was just an attempt to shakedown the casino for a nuisance settlement? Character revealing?

I do not believe:
Hotel corridors are not under video surveillance.
IF this is true its the first such situation I've ever heard of in Vegas.

Apparently it depends on the hotel.

Quote: New York Post
the Associated Press found that 23 of the 27 major Strip casinos have no surveillance in hotel hallways or elevator landings. All but four of the 27 hotels are owned by MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment Corp., Las Vegas Sands Corp. or Wynn Resorts Ltd.

The AP arrived at the tally by interviewing casino officials and visiting the hotels that wouldn’t comment. Only Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, the MGM Grand and Tropicana Las Vegas monitor the halls above the gambling floor.

Mandalay Bay was built by Circus Circus Enterprises in 1999. Would it be that shocking if they went the cheap route?

I would not have believed this. I still suspect hotels are hesitant to comment on the issue and that cameras are concealed. I do know that Caesars lacks hotel corridor surveillance. Hotels often have "dead runs'' which means a luggage schlepper is sent to a room to pickup the suitcases that are just inside the door and take them to a new room. This often happens when a high roller arrives and the desk clerk gives him all that is available, a free room suitable for a low roller. So the computer spits out a 'dead run' for high roller's bags to be taken the next morning to high roller's new free room.

Sometimes a dead run, since it manually entered, gets a transposition or something. One victim of an erroneous dead run claimed 200 in chips had been stolen. The casino checked the door open and door closed signal log and also realized the baggage handler had fifteen years experience, but had no hallway camera so there was no footage to check.

Swat teams should have one of these, warning NSFW:
The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW

It seems police were overly fixated on there being multiple shooters.

It also seems the police got most of their "location data" from Mandalay Bay telephone operators who realized from guest reports and background noises that shooter had to be somewhere on floors 29 thru 32.

One cop kept reporting muzzle flashes as "a strobe light" which of course did not aid in locating the shooter.

Even after security guard got shot cops were still busting into ALL 32nd floor rooms, looking for bad guys and chasing out any good guys.

No one seemed to focus on the 32nd floor soon enough; focused on 3215 only after guard was hit by shrapnel, not a bullet.

Perhaps the no cameras in other parts of the hotel actually creates less opportunities for being sued. "Sorry, no cameras, no tape." We can't verify anything.

Anyone stealing is likely to leave the building, thus cameras on casino floors and exits.

Because you know they prioritize theft over being shot dead.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

They prioritize what is most likely. Theft and prostitution, not nutcases and machine guns.

Theft of TV sets, is a known risk, as is prostitutes taking over a room and going door to door in the hotel, drunken brawls maybe, but the real focus is at all times on the casino floor and the cage area.

A much stronger theory would of course be Toxoplasmosis gondii as a somatic infection wherein the protozoan eventually infiltrated the cranium. This, with altered tryptophan and kynurenene levels would result in increased risk taking behavior (gambling) and increased assaultive behavior (suicide, homicide). Serum and hair testing should be performed. The primary metabolite of tryptophan metabolism of interest is n-formyl kynurenine which is heavily influenced by vitamin B6 levels.
Body is now in Standford undergoing specialized neurological testing.

Court enjoins Mandalay Bay from destroying any evidence such as tapes, notes, time cards or debris from the shooting.
