I got out of the car once at our highest hill but couldn't get to the actual peak as the people won't let anyone in their yard. It might be one of the hardest peaks to get to among the fifty states. Its a whopping 812' and kicks Florida's butt!

What would it cost to buy some land near there and truck in dirt and fill to make a hill that tops out at 821 to be the centerpiece of a new state tourist attraction? You gift shop would be killer!

That's a great idea except for the fact that the state central landfill will probably be the highest point soon.

Jeopardy James has only gotten 33 questions wrong in 31 episodes and over 1000 correct.

But one of the questions he got wrong was about mountain climbing.

It takes a full day to manage this Yosemite peak

Please answer with spoilers and in the form "What is...?". I am curious if the Wizard gets this one correct.

well, if Holzhauer got it wrong I guess it is ok if I do too.

Yosemite is in the Sierra Nevadas? That doesn't help me that much even if it is. Pike's Peak maybe? edit after search: big buzzer sound , Alex says "ha ha that's in the Rockies" . Sometimes Alex in fact chides players a little like that I've noticed

There is an online quiz for questions that Holzhauer got wrong plus ones that nobody buzzed in.
I think I said there were 33 that he got wrong, but there are 45 in the quiz below, so there must be 12 questions where nobody buzzed in.

Since the Wizard has not guessed (he may not have seen the question) I will post a photo as a clue

I would have said Half Dome, but it's a bad question. Yosemite has lots of peaks, including El Capitan, that take about the same time. Yes, there is also a trail to the top of El Capitan. I'd have gone with Half Dome because it's probably the most popular big hike in Yosemite.

Not that you asked, but one needs a permit to do the chains now.

Do you even do this kind of climbing, sheer cliff face?

That's an interesting comment, because James specifically said El Capitan and he was marked as wrong.

James: What is El Capitan?
Jessica: Devil's Peak?
Josh: no answer

I think Jessica meant to say Devil's Tower, which was used in the 1977 movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. But Devil's Tower is in Wyoming, and not in Yosemite.

It turned out that the $1600 lost on this question was relatively unimportant to James because he won nearly $50K on three daily doubles and the final jeopardy question, for a total of over $80,000.

He could make a very good case the question was vague and his answer was not incorrect. It is a 15-mile popular hike and Half Dome is a bit less I believe.

Hike the El Capitan Trail.

I hear the actual show often is help up over protests, which get edited. If I ever meet up with James, I'll bring it up.

I also think Ken Jennings should have got credit for this one.
