Trump made those comments when there were very few cases in the US. Despite those few cases, he took action to prevent the spread of the disease. He was criticized when he restricted China travel on Jan. 31st, when there were only six cases in the country. He warned us about it again, on Feb. 4th during his State of the Union speech when there were only eleven cases in the country.

Here is Dr. Fauci twelve days later, when there were fifteen cases in the US, telling people ‘the risk right now, today, is relatively low’, ... ‘This could change. Right now, don’t worry about it, be more concerned about influenza.’

WASHINGTON (AP) — One sign of how deep the job losses could prove to be: During its nearly decade-long hiring streak, the U.S. economy added 22.8 million jobs. Economists expect the April jobs report being released in early May to show that all those jobs will have been lost.

Well, looks like the righties who wanted Donny to get rid of everything Obama accomplished are getting their wish!

Fake news video, editing makes it look like she tore up that speech due to that comment. Sad right wingers resort to this fakery
Bottom line, He lied
If he was the President of SK, then he would be telling the truth
SK did everything. That was just more Trump BS
Trump may talk the talk, but he doesn't walk the walk
SK is the poster country on how to beat the virus. They walked the walk.
Historians will study why the USA let the virus overrun the country and will blame Trump and right wing news
We could of ended up like SK with the right leadership. Instead we will end up worse then Italy

"We want to be vigilant about what might be on the horizon — what is out there in other places. We want to be careful how we deal with it (coronavirus). But we do want to say to people, come to Chinatown. Here we are, again, careful, safe, and come join us.”

https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2020/02/24/coronavirus-speaker-house-nancy-pelosi-tours-san-franciscos-chinatown/

"De Blasio is getting some pushback. CNN’s Jake Tapper, for instance, asked the Democrat on Sunday if his unwillingness to publicly request New Yorkers pull back from New York’s nightlife is partly to “blame for how rapidly the virus has spread across the city?”

https://www.dailysignal.com/2020/03/30/de-blasio-nyc-officials-downplayed-covid-19-threat-after-trump-restricted-travel-to-china-here-are-5-examples/

The problem runs deeper than just Trump. I have never said that he has not made any mistakes. There are mistakes enough to go around.

Pelosi delayed the current stimulus by pushing for funding outside of the actual needs instead of just for oversight which needs to be tight.

McConnell should have had the Senate in town to vote on the first stimulus right away since it requires time to be debated on the floor before a vote is held.

We aren't SK; that ts a different culture.

Don't forget the WHO:

"Examples that could prove fatal are rife. In December, the WHO refused to act on or publicize Taiwan’s warning that the new respiratory infection emerging in China could pass from human to human. In mid January, despite accumulating evidence of patients contracting what we now know as COVID-19 from other people, the organization repeated the CCP’s lie that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission. In January the WHO, at Beijing’s behest, also blocked Taiwan from participating in critical meetings to coordinate responses to the coronavirus and even reportedly provided wrong information about the virus’s spread in Taiwan. These actions are unacceptable and should not be allowed to continue."

...and the media...

"Vox also tweeted on Jan. 31: "Is this going to be a deadly pandemic? No." On Mar. 24, Vox deleted that tweet, writing that it "no longer reflects the current reality of the coronavirus story."

Again, lots of people got it wrong.

SK also didn’t have 3.4 million unwashed travelers entering their country between December and February, from Italy, Spain, China and the rest of the world. Countless potential spreads in that group. A single infected person can cause 59,000 infections.

Johns Hopkins study ranks US number 1, in comprehensive ranking of 195 countries on their pandemic preparedness.

Ten days after Fauci made these comments, the Prophet Trump(pbuh) wisely restricted China travel. Eliminating potentially thousands of spreads, while there were still only six cases in the US.

Will be veeeeerry interesting to see what happens to Donny’s approval rating when his measly $1200 checks don’t arrive in some people’s pockets till September.

Millions of people needed those checks TODAY to cover the mortgage/rent/etc.

Although the form the government is sending to employers is simple to fill out, banks are requiring weeks worth of documents and verifications to get the loans.

Unless they fix that there's no compensation coming anytime soon.

No bet but probably less than 100. Remember the ebola scare? How many other times the same people thought the world was ending?

This one is also no big deal. People want to scare themselves to death.

Problem with your theory is that the whole epidemic will be forgotten by May and the people going bonkers of it will go back to thinking they will die from global warming.

The rest of us will be at a spring picnic laughing at their silliness.

Here is my prediction:

2,000 to 3,000 American casualties. That's about as many Americans who die of all causes in 10 to 12 hours.

I'm thankful that I did not make any wager on the total deaths: This is one where I'd prefer to be wrong.
Some say that 5443 died. And that's not the final count by a LONG way.
Maybe the CDC is deep state fake news.
The UK's BBC uses figures from John Hopkins University, which currently comes up with 6042 so far, increasing at >1000 per day.
Even FoxNews has it pegged at >5,000

"This could be a hell of a bad two weeks. This is gonna be a very bad two — or maybe even three — weeks," the president said. "This is going to be three weeks like we haven't seen before."

He really said that! I guess it's true, if not just very slightly understated.

Anyone expecting Dr Fauci to keep his job? Maybe some military action in Iran: It won't be a distraction tactic. Honest.

So in other words you are saying people underestimated up and down the line?

Why take military action in Iran? They are among the worst hit places.
The President is a fink.
