Oh this is a great example.

Qatar writing an article on Sodomy laws in America....

Do you know what the pubishment for Sodomy in Qatar is?
The death penatly......

As for RT, Putin is a thug, who took over the state.
What happened to 2011 when Rs feared Russia and are suddenly bowing to them?

I knew it would not be long before the Republicans here to start praising RT and AJ.....

I would take Fox, heck I would take Breitbar over them.....
Don't blame the R's here for my beliefs. They are my own.

Some concerts get very violent. And, I am sure some film events may as well.
But, I think you are missing what I am saying. Violence at concerts is often gang or just ego related or just drunk fights.

Violence at sports game is tribal (yes there are some run-of-mill drunk fights as well). People will go seek out fans of opposing teams to cause harm for no logical reason.

For example if somebody is drunk/high at a concert with friends and they perceive another group as saying something negative about them and a fight breaks out, that is routine drunk fighting behavior (happens all the time at bars, etc...). Of course it is still wrong and silly, but a different level.

If somebody after the game goes stalking the streets to look for a fan of the opposing team to stab (any fan, no personal connection or perceived ego threat), that is a different level of behavior, pure tribalism.

These are totally different behaviors and types of violence. Neither is logical, but you can understand a drunken fight after an insult more than you can understand hunting fans of opposing teams....

Funny, while Trump is raising the specter of socialism. a Cuban columnist who lived under Castro sees it completely different.

Quote:

Trump isn’t our savior from socialism, Florida Latinos. He’s the ‘caudillo’ we fled. What I learned from communists is that the key to get your followers to forgive your excesses and immorality is to convince them that the alternative is unacceptable,” says Guennavy Rodriguez, the 39-year-old Cuban editor of the political blog and podcast Flagler y 23 in Miami. “Everything is forgiven for Trump as long as he devotes his daily prayers to the ‘communism’ that threatens us.”

But Latinos should weigh the facts: Who’s the real dictator?

In Florida, a substantial bloc of voters like me are marked by the experience of fleeing totalitarian regimes. And that’s precisely why I fear, not Biden, but another four years of authoritarian Trump, whose anti-socialist rhetoric is a farce.

During the past four years, I’ve seen Trump resort to dictatorial tactics that are all too familiar: constantly lying, disregarding constitutional mandates and turning Americans against one another for his own benefit.

My family and I lived through all that, and more, during the 10 years we lived under Fidel Castro’s regime.

If you don’t vote Republican, you’re a socialist, Trump and his supporters peddle with vehemence.

Where have I heard that before?

In Cuba, where if you weren’t a fidelista, you were told you were no longer Cuban, a nonperson, and were treated that way. That’s why when you left the country, they stamped your passport “Nulo” (void) to nullify your existence.

To demand that people show allegiance to one party — or be branded anti-American — is as undemocratic as it gets, not to mention, a completely false choice.

We have the right as Americans to question power. That’s why we came here.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

You don't see the hypocrisy of writing about Texas Sodomy laws (which really don't exist for any intents or purposes) from a country where Sodomy is illegal and can be punished by death?
Qatar is not a good country. Neither is Russia.

As for wanting to make countries better, yes, that is our role in the world. It is our duty to ensure other countries experience the same social progress that we enjoy here.

-Edit- Also, that is different than tribalism from being a sportsfan. There is a logical outcome for America being successful in many conflicts. Also, it has nothing to do with seeking random violence against members of the "opposing team". So yeah I see what you are trying to do, but it does not work. -

Strange, sounds like he was talking about the Obama years to me.

I find the exact opposite. If I dare even hint that Trump might occasionally be right in a discussion with a Trump hater they immediately start to spew that hate at me. It is impossible to have any kind of a discussion or debate with them.

That's just the temperature of the country right now; we're intentionally divisive with one another. I'm quite certain both sides have experienced it, unless you never leave your house and also never discuss politics on the internet.

I've had my positions dismissed by people on this board who have dismissed them because I'm a, "Liberal," or have said, "Well, since you're a Conservative, you would think..." Of course, I'm neither. Right now, I'm more of an amused spectator than anything.

Same here. Libbies are the absolute worst when it comes to tolerating opposing viewpoints.

You know, I'm starting to wonder what exactly Terapined said/did when he interacted with those Trump supporters. Because Trump supporters keep to themselves and they don't wear their political views on their sleeve (unless they're at a rally or something) because of all the hateful libbies out there.

So it's possible that he might have said something out of line to piss them off. (To use a general example, calling somebody a "pedophile" would definitely make even the most mild mannered person mad)

So I'd love to know the truth about what transpired between Terapined and those Trump supporters. Unfortunately we'll never know because to be honest I don't trust his characterization of things...

What's the point of suggesting that you would want to hear details and then saying that you already believe the source of the details being the source discredits the details themselves all in the same paragraph?

Besides, that's literally any account of anything. You hear a first-person account, you get it from that person's perspective...priors, biases, pre-conceived notions and all...literally anything.

It also depends who you're talking to. For example, let's say that a casual gambler asks me what I think of Casino XYZ; I might get into a breakdown of the pros and cons, design, crowd, how well-lit it is, service...etc. etc. Now, another vulture could ask me about the casino and I might simply say, "That casino sucks," which means nothing more than it doesn't have many machines we'd be interested in for AP purposes.

Lies. I know for a fact Biden is at 69%!

Like EB, I will never be willing to back up my predictions with a monetary wager.

Not only won't you wager, you won't make any predictions because your so scared of being wrong.
You won't even commit to Biden winning the Presidency, despite how desperately you are hoping for it.
Here is an easy one, will Biden even win the Presidential Election in MI?
Find your balls, there around there somewhere, and make a prediction already.

Errrrr.... that’s the one prediction I have repeatedly already made.

Biden will win MI.

People don't come out of their houses to threaten random people. Terapined claimed that he was threatened by Trump supporters. I was merely pointing out that he might have very well said something to set them off. Remember, this is the guy who called me and AZ "pedophiles".
