Would you live in a totally new development(recubbed an “Urbanburb”)?

PHASE I OPENED OCTOBER 2014
1 Billion DOLLAR PROJECT
86 ACRES
526 LUXURY RENTAL UNITS
101 SINGLE FAMILY HOME SITES
330-Key FOUR-STAR FULL-SERVICE HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER
8.8 ACRES OF GATHERING SPACE
Including A 10,000 SQUARE FOOT PLAZA
570,000 SQUARE FEET OF RETAIL
678,000 SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE SPACE

It isn't cheap. An 800 square foot apartment is $2K per month, and the single family homes are the better fraction of a million dollars and over a million for a larger home. It might have touches of Mayberry R.F.D., but it certainly is a lot more expensive.

I do not see where it is located but that is way too expensive. Half the point of expat is save money. This looks like moving in to Mall of America.

This urbanburb is 37-43 miles from ATL airport, so it is in a trendy area in the South.

While most expats are looking to save some money, not everyone is trying to lose the conveniences of urban lifestyle. There are a lot of American expats living in the skyscraper jungle in Panama City, Panama

These condos in Panama City cost roughly $1.3-$1.6 million, but they are huge
Bedrooms: 3 Bathrooms: 3.5 3330 square feet 2 Parking speces, Guest Parking, Maids Quarters, Terrace

Now that is inexpensive compared to Manhattan where you could pay that much for a 1 bedroom apartment
This tiny one bedroom in One57 in Manhattan goes for over $3.3 million.

This is what $1650 per month gets you in NYC's West Village.

I remember this. That room was
the floors janitor's closet originally.
Where they kept the mop buckets
and vacuums.

I don't get Manhattan. I watch
walking videos every day from
NYC and it's a great place to look
at. But half or more of the
street level businesses are
restaurants, and I don't eat
food I don't make myself.
Eating out must be really important
to some people.

In Mexico most people eat out all the time.

Just like they do in Hong Kong

The city of Natchez, Mississippi is paying people $6000 to move there for at least one year.

There does seem to be a huge eating out culture there. Takeaway, delivery, etc. There was a culture called "kitchenestas" who stored shoes and clothes in their never used ovens. Not just NYC. In San Francisco I have heard of leases that prohibit all but "light cooking" in the kitchen!

That was a different luxury apartment. This is a new listing. Better hurry.

Many of those restaurants are gone. Put out of business by a governor who won't allow indoor dining in NYC, but allows it everywhere else in the state, despite a lower restaurant transmission rate than other counties..

Blizzard a few days ago was like this one in 2016:

West Village to Times Square.

If everybody or masks and social distanced
Those restaurants would be open and busy today like the ones in Taiwan
When you have part of the population that is pro virus, no lockdown will work

Its really shocking
There is a grocery store in S Florida in the news today
No masks and social distancing
The owner said 400k dead from this virus in this country is BS
The grocery store owner is pro virus making sure it spreads
