As for the Supreme Court
If a justice is healthy enough to do the job and wants to continue, so be it.
This conservative court scares me
I've generally supported a conservative govt due to fiscal reasons
But when it come to the Supreme Court
I always supported a liberal Court because they tend to side with peoples rights such as Miranda and abortion
This Court seems determined to undermine democracy and support states restricting voting to insure a conservative majority in govt. Scary. A Court against democracy simply to hold power

On the other hand, if the executive, legislative and judicial branches are all leftist majorities that will cause changes that conservatives will not accept.

What decision could a liberal Supreme Court issue that you would be against? They can't go against the Constitution.
The most divisive time I have ever experienced in this country were the late 60's and early 70's
I remember my parents discussing possibly sending me out of the country to protect my life and not get drafted if things don't improve.
People's lives were at stake and the stakes were very high.

Then again we went from right to left when FDR was elected, he had a cooperative congress and judiciary, and the republicans didn't run amuck with pitchforks and firebrands, so maybe nothing will happen.
