Sorry, try this Looking closer, the last auction actually ended last month. In any case, it is unlikely the price is below $1000.

$2650. Sheesh! Something is worth what you can get somebody else to pay for it. Whatever the auction closes for today would be a good gauge of that and I predict it closes around $1,000.

Speaking of which, here is another phony auction. These are nice plates, I'll grant that, but $9,995?! No way. I'd put the value more like $2,000. Anyway, this guys keeps running this auction over and over and it never closes.

This guy never heard of insuring a package?

Yeah, I forgot to gripe about that rule about not shipping. Just ridiculous. I saw another auction where a guy demanded a personal pick-up somewhere in New Hampshire for a set of plates that weren't even worth that much.

The auction closed, someone offered $1,500 and it was sold.

I wonder what the reserve was? Also, there were some bids from a mystery bidder who had no feedback. I wonder if these were shill bids to run up the price?

Almost impossible to shill bid on Ebay now,
it's a good way to get banned for life as a
seller.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I'm glad I didn't bet that it wouldn't close. I wonder what happened to the back license plate with the sticker.

I'm curious why they use Arabic numbers. Are Arabic numbers widely used in the mainland?

Those aren't Arabic numbers. They have their own symbols for numbers, but for license plates and very official purposes they use the same 0 to 9 that we use.

The Chinese symbols are generally the province but sometimes other words like "police" or "rental car."

I'm more surprised there are Latin letters.

Maybe the Romans did make it all the way to China! ;)
