Good point. The Senate will allow any Biden nominee to the SC to fly by. The House can choose to impeach Biden, which would rank amongst the stupider things the House would have done in my lifetime. But it looks like Repubs will win 221-214. That’s a big enough cushion that no ‘Manchinning’ will happen.

Looks like there WILL be a lame duck gay/interracial rights bill that passes. A dozen Repub Senators are allowing a vote, overriding the filibuster. It will be another ‘bipartisan’ success for the Biden administration.

It should be considered a win for the R party as well. The anti-gay position does damage to them without providing any real benefit.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

I am happy to see some republicans break rank on that one.

Agree. The less the Republican Party talks about gay/trans/abortion type issues, the more likely they can win elections. The majority of the country is against the Republican platform on these issues.

Yes, the GOP should focus on their much more popular policies of gutting social security and Medicare and cutting taxes for the rich.

Don’t be so sure on the Manchin-ing.

At least three far-right GOP House members are already saying they are voting no for McCarthy for Speaker.

I’ll bet you ($1) that when the actual vote happens on the floor of the House no Republican votes against him.

I’m tempted to accept the bet, but I don’t really care either way.

This guy seems like a solid no, can’t imagine him changing his mind after releasing this statement:

https://amgreatness.com/2022/11/17/i-cannot-vote-for-kevin-mccarthy-as-house-speaker/

Matt Gaetz is also a no, according to his Tweets.

Damnit I’m starting to be okay with Biden. He’s got a 1953 Topps Satchel Paige card on his desk.
