No way that it is a race thing, he did not have a lawyer and did not negotiate in advance. He also attacked (physically) two FBI agents who were trying to serve him papers. |

He has no lawyer because he says he cannot afford one, but the court did a means test and he doesn't qualify for a court-appointed attorney. He's screwed, just like the rest of the middle class. As for the racial angle: calling him a flight risk is absurd; the outstanding assault charge is really a nothingburger, and only the judge's prejudice led to this ridiculous denial of bail. |

He has a reported seven figure networth, dude can afford a lawyer. It is very hard to get a public defender in GA, you have to be completely destitute to even have a chance. If you work fulltime making even 7.25 an hour you make too much money (I think the cutoff, is you have to make below 15k a year.) But, no this conundrum does not apply to this guy. I am pretty sure he is the only one who has done physical violence. And, the last time a Court tried to subpoena him he attacked the servers (and those were FBI agents, not just random process servers.) Also, has a history of stalking and threatening GA election workers. It is not just about flight risk, for his case the other factor was being a danger to others. Not everything is about race. If somebody is the only member of an arrested group with a history of violence, threats, and stalking they are probably going to get less leeway with bond. |

I can't stop looking at it not because it's Trump, it's just totally iconic. There is so much there in that look, how the hell did he manage that. You don't just practice something like that in the mirror, something like that comes from inside you. Even people on the left are going what the hell? Who is this guy, how are we going to run against that. Amazing. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
