The special district shouldn't be collecting that much money. Reduce the tolls and collect the same amount a different way that doesn't have strings attached. You seem to think that if the government puts their money in different pockets it makes a difference. It is all the peoples money no matter which pocket it is in.

As far as childish Geno comment on me not being an expert on public health, I mentioned it only in case someone misinterpreted my ‘doctor’ experience as making me an expert on anything other than my specialty, anesthesiology (and pain management). Although not an expert on many things, I feel competent to discuss these issues on this hodgepodge of a forum. Having read your (Geno) posts, I now can unequivocally state I am more savvy about public health issues than you are. Feel free to attempt another one sentence post to try (and fail) to make yourself look knowledgeable. You aren’t fooling anyone here.

I actually logged on not to spat with Geno, but just to mention terror attack in my backyard. I was supposed to be 1/2 mile away at casino today, just friend canceled so didn’t go. No details available on the two terrorists (both died) but I’m sure we will find out. Entire border is closed in both directions, at all 4 bridges.

No, it is the special district's money. Again, you do not seem to understand how they work, which for you is acceptable because you are not a citizen. But, it is a complicated structure with restrictive rules.

You cannot just lower tolls, there is a whole process (that at this point is usually automated raises baked in -I am honestly not sure if that if the case with GG, but it probably is-) Special districts are very baked into State's governments, you can try to change them, but even if you are actually a citizen in the jurisdiction, you will fail. It is just how it is.

I do not doubt that you are a great Doctor and are very knowledgeable on many medical issues.

I do doubt that you have any idea on how special districts are structured in CA (sorry I guess I should specify CA meaning California, not Canada)...... Sorry (not an insult! -just my observation from all these posts about this random local topic the last three days.....) Either this is the case, or you are just playing dumb for a cheap jab at SF, either way is totally wrong!

In any case, it is nothing personal (from me), I just do not get why you guys are being so stubborn about a very specific topic that has a black and white answer (there is not even room for philosophy on such a topic...)

As of right now it is ‘highly probable’ it is a terror attack. Someone sped up, drove the wrong way, and blew themselves up on an international bridge. Is it possible it’s something other than a terrorist attack, sure. But not likely.

Edit…. Seems like DRich has additional info that I don’t. I’ve been watching college basketball.
