At least they didn't pick me for the twenty year study.

"Many of these studies require several interviews on a repeating interval schedule. While a few can be done online, the majority require an actual interview, either by phone or in person. For example, it might require an interview each month for four months, then a break period followed by another four months of interviews. Or in another study, an interview is required every six months for 3.5 years. And for another, it is an interview every two years over a 20-year study window."
