Mayim Bialik in Blossom II

You'd need to re-write the premise. Bialik could play Blossom's mom or aunt.

I just watched a couple episodes of the new season of Big Bang and my only response is "jumped the shark".

Sheldon having sex is probably worse than Fonzie jumping the shark.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

I thought it jumped last season. Like
Modern Family, it's running out of
original stories.

That was one of the best ever episodes. Especially the last scene where Arthur comes to find out how it all went.

not to derail the thread, but since I only occasionally watch the reruns, what did Modern Family do to jump the shark?

This season. All the kids are grown up and
that element of the show is totally not funny
anymore. I watch reruns every day during
dinner, the first 3 seasons are the best. Now
that the two younger boys are 18 and not
kids anymore, we discover that neither one
can act worth a damn. I kinda saw it last year,
this year it's just painful.

MF is down 15%, that's a huge drop. They're
already contracted for an 8th season, but it's
so bad now that I don't see a 9th. There's
only so many Gay men with an Asian baby
jokes, and an older man with a young wife
plotlines. It's getting very repetitive, and
the kids now being adults is what's really
killing it.

But every returning show is way down. There are three new shows on ABC that will probably stay on the air, but they aren't hits yet
1.46 Quantico
1.36 The Muppets
1.17 Dr. Ken

Right now, ABC has what no other network has. A solid 2 hours of sitcoms that people pretty much like.
The Middle -> The Goldbergs -> Modern Family -> Black-ish

But Modern Family will eventually choke on the multitude of giant salaries. Ensemble casts can do very well, but when they all want over $10 million a year you start running into trouble. You are better off with the Muppets, where you have half the audience, but no star salaries.

It's gotten so bad I missed the last 2 eps and
don't even care. I see 10 a week of the reruns,
there's no comparison. Phil's eccentricity is
finally getting on my nerves.

Sitcoms clearly don't drive the TV broadcast business any more. But clearly Jim Parsons is talking about possibility of life for TBBT after ten years. The Big Bang Theory lead for "Life in Pieces" has a lot to do with that show selling ads for that much.

30 second tv spot on 30 minute TV shows: Published on September 24, 2015 in Ad Age
$348,300 The Big Bang Theory Thursday
$239,993 Modern Family
$192,379 Life in Pieces
$186,050 The Simpsons
$164,933 Family Guy
$155,990 Black-ish

$120,133 Fresh off the Boat
