Literal translations are often meaningless.
That's one. The other is "until de sight," which is just as meaningless. Hasta luego, on the other hand, means "until later," which is not meaningless at all. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

What is the literal meaning of "How do you do?". The Oxford English dictionary defines it as "a formal greeting". The word "adiós" is short for "a Dios" (“ with God”), from Latin "ad + deus ". Every Romance language has a version. I have never heard anyone say that the word implies that you won't be returning. |

The literal translation is "Como tu haces?" which is 100% meaningless. The translation is "Como estás?" meaning "How are you?" or "Como te va?" meaning "how are you doing?" Both of these are much closer in meaning, and both are mere greetings (that is, the questioner rarely has any real interest in the answer). Now try this one: ¿Como hace un canguro? It does not mean "How does a kangaroo do?" Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I'd like to know how you came up with babysitter. Canguro = kangaroo in this instance. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

The word is listed in the DRAE as commonly referring to a babysitter. It also seems to refer to either traditional or modern devices that strap a baby to a parent. Presumably the two meanings are related. |
