I care

If things start trending in another direction, I'll be just as happy to report it, even if it makes all the fossil fuel advocates happy.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

LOL! When you consider the Earth
has been here for billions of years
and they've been recording temps
for 125 of those years (and not very
well in most of the world till recently)
your statement means absolutely
nothing.

"Climate change sucks"

Beats the alternative, which is death.
Climate has to be in a constant state
of flux or it dies.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

It comes down to what I said earlier, some people's lives are so comfortable their brain needs to be worrying about something. Must be nice.

That's how I feel. Wow, you're life
is so perfect, such a well oiled
machine, that you have all this
time to wring your hands over
something you have no control
over whatever. What a colossal
waste of time and energy.

Want something real to be concerned
about? The oceans are being over
fished. Do you you know how much
just one country, like Japan, eats
in just one day? Let alone the rest
of Asia. It's staggering, and if it
keeps up they have a big surprise
coming.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

You said 'you have no control over whatsoever' in the first paragraph. As an individual, of course you are correct. But laws can affect how much CO2 is produced. Governments, if they want to, do have the power to change how we harness and use energy. A huge tax increase on cars will increase mass transit use. Same with a larger gas tax. Build more nuclear plants to burn less coal. Etc.... You, Bob, through a multitude of previous posts, do not believe that how many cars we have running, how many coal plants we have burning, affects the climate. For those that do, the political process is how they fight it. They might say there is NOTHING more important that they can do.

As far as your fish comment, you are spot on. Managing the food supply for 6 plus billion isn't easy.

All those taxes really do little to solve a problem that does not exist. The USA has the best CO2 reductions. Not from taxes but from use of natural gas.

Some people love tilting at windmills.
Somewhere in the world somebody
staves to death every second of every
day. On a planet teeming with food.
Yet the windmill people would rather
wring their hands and worry about
a hoax than do some real good. It's
laughable and tragic at the same time.

"Tilting at windmills is an English idiom that means fighting imaginary enemies. The expression is derived from the 1605 novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, and the word "tilt" in this context comes from jousting."
