Now that I think about it. You should not be a cop unless you understand the constitution. Shockingly, most dont. Ton of youtube videos showing cops trying to harass or arrest citizens taking part in constitutionally protected activities such as filming in public.

You can say things like, "The Socialists are going to take over and destroy the country any minute now," because if you couldn't, then the First Amendment has failed.

Lots of people joining the "resign or be impeached" bandwagon now.

As for why they would impeach with less than 2 weeks left in the term, one of the penalties the senate can impose upon conviction is disqualification from holding any future federal office.

So, in effect, they are telling trump to resign for two weeks or risk not being allowed to run for president again in 4 years.

Yeah, I don't think there is in better remedy than more speech, BUT, that doesn't mean I've given up on any possible other remedy that would improve the situation. I don't think it is good that the size of your megaphone is tied directly how much money you have to spend.

"Stand back and stand by."

By the time he told the crowd that "you will never take back our country with weakness", they all knew what he wanted to happen at the Capitol Building.

While his mob wreaked havoc, he did nothing. Which is consistent with idea that he fully intended the consequences of his speech.

He didn't need to yell "fire" to start one.

I agree with you. But there are plenty of people willing to give it a narrow reading.

I wonder if anyone will try filing a wrongful death suit against Trump.

That wouldn't require a smoking gun.

It would have tons more substantiation than nearly every one of the dozens of election lawsuits.
